hi all, having a problem with my internet, it seems to have gotten steadily worse, every 15 - 30 mins it looses connection, not quite sure what to try, i thought it was because there was a phone plugged in without a filter but i've sorted that and its still disconnecting. any ideas on what i could try? thanks a lot! (y)

Have you any randoms using your wireless network, same was happening to mine until I secured it

Steve

You should be able to access the router which will show all connections, Also are you using XP if you are use the network connections in the control panes and see how many wireless connection are available I found I have some one close and until I secured mine everytime he switched his on mine drop out.

Right the adsl connection is the connection between your router and the exchange, so if this is dropping out you would lose internet access on all computers, is this what happens?

no mate, it seems to just be my computer (connect directly to router)

Sorry thought yours was the wireless connected one  give the connector at your network card a clean and the plug works for me

OMFG!!!! WAS ON THERE 15 MINUITES! AND ALL HE SUGGESTED WAS GET A DIFFERENT MICROFILTER, THEN 5 MINUITES LATER HE SAID GO TO TOOLS  and i said tools where?! then i just put the phone down!!

never bother with talk talk they are utterly SH*T!

Thats what happens when you join a supplier who has zero ISP history and the fact they are marketing it as free broadband it should instantly stand out as "going to be over-subscribed and ****e technical support"

As to your problem, most people have suggested possible fixes. I've seen some ADSL issues with signal problems which have caused the line to drop out every so often but only the provider can verify that.

@Si yeh it wasn't my choice to go to talktalk, aint my house (n) anything is better than nothing i suppose

True, it's the problem with parents, they see £££ rather than quality of service :D
