Hello All
I have a feat stilo 1.6 16V multivan (03)
I'm totally new to this forum - Sorry for my bad english
I'm trying to locate a problem..
The whole show started 2 weeks ago..
Some times in the morning.. my car have problems with starting..
It show High Cool temperature.. But after 2-3 attempts it start and working properly..
But last monday.. Where i should start my car in morning.. Outdoor temperature was aout 10deg.. The humidity was a bit high.. and it have rained all the night..
again i got the error High Coolant temperature..
I was not able to start the motor after that..
So i got my lovely car to the mechanic.. He meant it was the generator.. so he changed it..
My cars starts perfectly in few days.. and then the same..
Now i started to make a diagnostic for self.. (im an electrician)
One of my friends told me to remove the Battery+ for some minutes.
But it took more than a few minutes.. Because i get disturbed on a phone call and forgot the battery+ (so more than 30mins without power to the cars security system)
I cleared all connectors with "electrical spray to clean contacts"
i lifted the 2 ECU-connectors carefully.. looked in them and cleaned them gently with the spray..
also some sensor-connectors..
Now i attached the plus on my battery again..
Insert my key.. and first error (Car safety feature) and the Keylock on my dash.. next error was the High coolant temperature..
Also the worst error "Loose connection"
So now i know, i need to reset my onboard computer in the car.. so it accepts my keys again..
I looked in my manual. To start the emergency start procedure..
but it wont work.. ( that blinking engine-symbol was never arrived)
I got the faulty car to the mechanic..
Computer was reset.. keys now accepted, all things in the car works..
But still Loose connection..
Tha car is not starting..
I've read that the fusebox (located over the battery could create massive el-problems) But im not sure, that this is the problem..
My mechanic will try insert another box, he can use for testing..
My own meaning is that that box is not the probem.. But i'm really not sure..
Is there a cheap shop to buy a new fusebox in England.. pls link
I really hope someone could give me some hints.. to check
Thx
