Hi

Ive just locked my keys in my car, arghhh. Dont ask how, stupid thing.

Does anyone know how to open it, as I can't locate the spare at the moment?

Thanks.

Turn it left or right? For the boot

I have a second spare but that key had snapped, I'm going to see if they can cut the spare from it to open the door first.

Update:

Managed to get in, PHEW!, found and old spare key that had snapped in half, and took it to the key cutters and got one done and bingo it opened! :)

£7 for a plain key cut, pretty cheap. £40 if you need the coding.

Incidentally last night I tried the coat hanger method to try to break into my own car, and it didn't work at all. Funny scene it was.:D

well done..,;)
TBH £40 for a pattern working key is still good value, (y)

I still remember the "Watchdog" episodes - where people LOST their old Mk1 Punto MASTER keys, and it was a £700 bill back in the late 90's:eek:

there is still a stigma on buying/selling fiats without the red keys. People have asked me if i have the red key for cars that never had red keys and i don't just mean later mk1 puntos, things like my old stilo people where asking me if i had the red key and then looking at me like I am a liar when i explain that it never had a red key and that fiat stopped doing it years and years ago.. And tbh, even car that had a red key you can get new keys made for pretty easily these days - i like to see them but thats just because its nice to see that the previous owner(s) have cared enough to not lose it in a drawer somewhere and forget about it, shows a little bit of love and attention to still have the key you never ever use.

In fiats defence though, back when they made the red keys - it was really really hard to start a fiat without the proper key, and pretty much impossible to clone one without the red key. They did do what they were meant to, just slightly took the **** with the price of a replacement. Which if you ever have to replace a modern car key you will know, costs the earth - or the key itself is cheap but they want hundreds to code it (about 20 seconds of an tech guys time).

Ok, so I had my keys also locked in my car... What you do is: Take an iron rod and bend it the way that you could reach the inner door handle and pull it.. Now take a flathead and put in in top of the door and pull till you have just enough space to slide in the rod... (doors bend).. Thats how i did it and no damage!
