I have a Fiat stilo 1.9 JTD 2003 with climate control and AQS sensor, which measures the quality of the air and choses either outside air or recirculation depending of the quality.

Does any1 know where this sensor is located. Preferable with pictures.

I suspect the thing to be dirty and would like to clean it, or it surroundings.
The sensor takes a long time to shift from recirculation to outside air when no cars are in front.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes i assume the AQS/Pollution sensor is the same thing.

I will have a look at mine. Perhaps its just a new filter thats needed, since it has been some time since it was last replaced.

Hmm.. sad to open up this thread again.. Last time the problem disappeared and the AQS sensor has worked flawless untill now..

But now it does not ever want to go away from recirculation. I had the sensor replaced but that did'nt give any improvement. I've cleaned the entire room under the scuttle panel, but no luck. Hocked up to a computer the aqs sensor insists on polution too high, even though no pollution is in the air. No stinky cars in front.

Does anyone have an idea to what i might persue for a sollution?

When disconnecting the sensor the climate control fails on aqs. And if you look via a computer it says sensor failure

Hmm. its funny with the sensor..

The sensor changes from recirculation to outdoor every 10 minutes or so, like its supposed to according to the manual..
Sometimes the time it is on outdoor air intake, it keeps it for quite some time, and sometimes it changes back after the mandatory 2 minutes of open tim.
I can manually select outdoor air but then the climate control looses its "full auto" function and goes into just auto.
Im starting to think that it is bad wirering..
I've tried blowing clean air from a compresser over the sensor but that was not enough to to from recirculation to outdoor.
