Hi to everyone...after searching for some time for a 4x4 Sisley, 2 came along in one week and I just couldnt say no to either! One is fully restored, the other is a nice honest one but with one problem...rotten fuel tank...does anyone know where i can get a replacement from??

Replacement metal tanks seem to be non existent I'm afraid! If the tank can be repaired (there is a guide on the forum under "guides") then that's probably the best thing to do.

I was lucky enough to pick one up on eBay for £35! New old stock. Only a suggestion but could the ones with oval fuel gauge hole be modded to fit the carb system?

Unfortunetly not, for those who can't read German the tank will only suit petrol injection models which use the oval hole for the fuel pump.

This is bizarre! I was just texting a former today that's restoring a 4x4 and told him I have a perfect condition tank if he needs it for his panda. He's going to check the condition of his tank and if it's rotten he's got first refusal on my spare tank. If he doesn't need it I'll let you know. Where abouts in the country are you? What colour are your Sisley's?
I used one of these tanks on Bucket, it needed a little adapting to fit. Bucket is now injected of course so the pump/sender unit was useful, if you we're going to use on a carbed 4x4 you would need to make an adaptor plate in order to fit the original sender unit.

Just something I'm curious about, would a tank from a seat marbella fit?
yes
even the filler will all fit fine.
i have a few spare tanks (3 actually)
all of them are the round filler pipe kind the "non 4x4" type. one has a hole in.. the others.. i am not sure.
even though they are non 4x4 tanks, they will still go on the 4x4 just fine.
the filler pipe on a seat marbella / mk1 fiat panda fuel tank are round. on the 4x4 they are oval shaped.
if you have a good rubber seal still from your old tank, it will fit over the round filler neck and work fine with the oval filler pipe.
as always get a really good brand name hose clip, preferably stainless steel.
