Don't understand why many people hate Golfs.
Some of the accusations don't hold water, either - I spent ages looking at company car options about 18 months ago - and found that Golfs came in significantly cheaper than the equivalent Focus, same with the Passat / Mondeo.
I know you can get some big discounts on new Fords - but company car drivers are taxed on list price and Ford have shot themselves in the foot there.
As an example, I ran a Focus 1.6TDCI Style Estate for a few months - the list price was higher than that of a Golf 1.9TDI SE, despite the Focus coming with significantly less equipment.
You can buy a BMW 116d for less money than a Focus 1.6TDCI these days.
Given a choice, I'd have a Bravo, though, but they're not an option, sadly. (Had a Bravo for a week when my Passat broke down a couple of years ago and loved it)
