General Light at the end of the tunnel

OK, found it. Half term for my lad, visit to my parents in edinburgh for the weekend...I can feel a cunning plan coming on:chin:
please tell me there'll be a Y10 there(y)

Go on then :D If your coming from Durham, I promise to have mine there no matter what the cost to my knuckles. It is nice to have such enthusiasm & encouragement. I wont feel like chucking the towel in when the waxoyl in the sill catches fire again.

is that the infamous 'yntegrale'?

This is indeed the infamous yntegrale. Never been totally finished unfortunately. Saw it about 18 months ago in Trevor's garage. Looks amazing up close. Main problem has been trying to get a big enough radiator to keep things cool. There is no space that is not fully occupied under the bonnet so he was looking at a Delta Evo bumper to give some more space.

He has promised it to his son for his 17th in 6 years

I'm really missing mine now, If there's a chance of 2 Y10s in the metal together I might need to make a trip north in May, when's this meet then?
Andrew

My target is a trip to Yorkshire in March with the Lancia Owners Club. So a wee trip to Craigton Country Park at St Andrews in May should be a walk in the park.

Sometimes they do leave it a bit late to confirm the date.

Cheers

Dave

Good man. Nothing like a bit of pressure to keep you going.

Not heard anything back from the body shop yet. Hopefully they have not found anything that some fabrication and a mig can't sort.

Back seat should also be finished this week. Will posts some pics when I get it.

Cheers

wow is that project still ongoing!? came across that build website years ago before I discovered FF

March...guisborough?
now that's interesting too. Not far from me and I've already got that week booked off work with no particular plans. I've still got a few Lancia badges in the garage do you reckon if I stuck 'em on the Panda I'd sneak in?

Guilsborough is where I am heading. What is the Gisborough Hall Hotel like? There is an afternoon run planned for the Saturday around the dales. Good driving road etc?

Stick some lancia badges on and say it is a y10, they'll never know!!! :D

Don't know the area I'm afraid, I've only moved down from your neck of the woods (Clydebank) just over a year ago so still finding my way a bit.
Top half of the bootlid's already suitably matt black, just need to fabricate a convincingly shiny chrome grille...

Update from bodyshop. New wings and doors have been primed and the new tailgate has had the lock welded up and smoothed off.

Kenny has also been busy making a number plate recess in the rear bumper as the S1 Y10 turbo had the number plate between the lights. The S3 had it mounted in the bumper. I am using a S1 turbo bumper with s3 lights, therefore no space for a number plate

Hopefully get some pics soon.

Picked up the back seats this morning. Look fantastic.

They are in the boot of my Volvo at the moment so will take some photos tonight.

Went down earlier to see how the bodywork is coming on

Big change to the rear bumper. Kenny has made a nice new recess for the number plate. Once it is all smooth and painted it will look top notch.

Also got the lock welded up on the back door and smoothed off

The welder also had to reweld the inner and outer skin of the back door together as the spot welds used in the Fiat/Lancia factory had come appart (n) All nice and solid now.

Doors also been primed and ready for top coat.

The next pain is getting the right paint code. Who would have thought there were so may different variations of Red

Loving that primed door(y) Its such a huge bit of the car!!!! I didnt realise till I started working on how big it is. Its easily a third of the length of the whole car.

After some debate yesterday with the guys on here that have 500s, Pasadoble Red is the final choice..... hopefully.

Spoke to the Kenny Laird, who is doing the work and he is getting a batch ordered up tomorrow so he can start painting the new panels.

Can't wait to see what it looks like.

Should also get an update on the welding soon. please please please please don't find anything more :bang:

Cheers

Looking good Dave, they did a great job on the back seat! do you mind me asking how much that cost? only I may need a similar job doing in the future. (y)

See, I do venture away from the classic Panda section sometimes. ;)
