Welding all finished :D Not heard if there was anything unexpected.

It will now be sanded, filled, sanded, filled, primed, sanded, primed...... for the next couple of weeks.

Get some photos on soon.

Cheers

Some new arrivals

Took a bit of a short cut earlier in the rebuild with a second hand pump. When I went to start it before going to the paint shop it died. £25 well spent on a new pump.

Raided the Fiat parts bin for some new mirror. Cinq ones are exactly the same as original Y10 ones, bonus.

Photos from paint shop soon.

Cheers

Dave

Went down to see the Y10 this morning. All sanded down and ready for top coat tomorrow.

The doors and bumpers have been painted in Pasadoble red and look amazing and that is before they have been compounded.

All the paintwork should be finished by next Tuesday ready for the interior. Bring it on.

Will posts some pics tonight.

Cheers

Dave

Here she is the most stripped she has been in 22 years

Lots of other bits are still in primer that will be getting top coat tomorrow.

The Delta HF Turbo side skirts should now also be fitted and primed.

The next photos should be of the finished paint next Tuesday or Wednesday. Can't wait.

Cheers

now that looks like a proper job there, and can't be that far away from reassembly now by the looks of it. The red should look great come the summer, it'll glow in the sunshine(y)
ah now hang on, Glasgow...it's all coming back to me now...
The red'll look fantastic glistening in the rain(y)
love the rims on it just now aswell! and that's just the tatty set for the paintshop?!
be fantastic when it hits the road:)
Andrew.

oh btw whats with the exhaust, that's a truly immense silencer hanging off the back there, surely not standard:confused:

Oh bring on the long summer days of wind and rain to enjoy

The Delta LX rims aren't too bad and look a lot better in the photos.

The exhaust at the back is standard Y10 Turbo. It links into a standard 999cc exhaust with the help of a few Jetex reducers to go 2"" to 1.5"". Will be getting a 2"" system to replace the 999cc system in time.

Spoke to Kenny earlier and all appears to be on track for finishing on Tuesday. He has got lots and lots of polishing to do.

Better try and find all the bits of interior that are scattered all over the house and garage.

Need to get it all back together soon as so that I can get it in for an MOT and to allow enough time for the unexpected bits. March isn't far away now.

Cheers

Dave

As the Y10 is almost home, I thought it should really be treated to a new stereo. So it will be bouncing along the road in a chavtastic manner with the following

- Sony MEX-BT2700 CD/Bluetooth Receiver
- 6x9 Kenwood KFC-S6972 4-Way Speakers
- 13cm Kenwood 2-Way Speakers
- 10" Kenwood 600 watt Sub and enclosure
- Mutant MT1202 Amplifier
- Vibe Amp/Box Quick Release Plug
- VIBE SLICK 8 AWG Wiring Kit

I thought I had grown out of all that about 15 years ago but never mind. Especially when you consider I am married with two kids and drive a Volvo V70 :slayer:

Cheers

I knew I was square man but this has really brought it home to me! I'm having a serious rosetta stone moment

mmm, I did manage to fit more in the Panda at one point thanks to a 4 channel amp running sub and 6x9s in the back leaving the head unit to run another pair of 16s in the front with seperate tweeters and 13s in the back side panels. Then I thought 'it's a Panda what are you doing!!!!' and pulled most of it out again:eek:
yours sounds like a marginally more sensible arrangement and frankly you've got a pretty big boot in the volvo so hey(y) should sound good.

Boys and their toys....

Might get some nice blue neons and pneumatic suspension  or not

Hopefully all the bits will come together and not look horrible :yuck:

Can't wait to get it all back together and get using it rather than just thinking about using it. Can't even remember what it is like to drive.

Don't think the stereo will even get switched on as I will be listening out for things rubbing and bits falling off!!

Will be interesting to see what the exhaust sounds like as it could be a cheap sporty option for a panda with little work.

Cheers

Slightly later than expected, the Y10 will be finished tomorrow. All the little bits and bobs have added up and taken a bit longer. Will get some pictures on here tomorrow evening.

Cheers

Dave

btw do you not think red under car neons would look better with the shiny new paint:p

:nono: no, no and thrice no!!

Looking forward to seeing it all back together. I am like a kiddy before Christmas

Some nice new Goodridge brakelines arrived today. Hopefully that will make the brakes top notch.

Didn't think I would ever get to this stage with the Y10. Been a very long road.
