finally!
the left hand drive rear light arrived all the way from the netherlands today, and its fitted already. many millions of thanks to klemster for letting me know about it on ebay. :worship:

i dont think i've ever felt this satisfied by such a small change. it may have cost the best part of £50 but it was well worth it now its fitted. now i'm wishing i had exhausts at both sides of the bumper to finish off the symmetry. who knows, maybe i'll feel the need to fabricate an exhaust next :)

i'll have to post some pics on sunday to show what a difference it makes. its not the kind of thing average joe would even notice, but thats the kind of mods i prefer tbh.

think i'm going to spray the border of each light black, not sure yet but i had a mad idea while fitting it so we'll see what the clarity of tomorrow morning brings. people with mouldy lights will know which part i plan to paint ;)

Look forward to the pics, i also have similar plans. Will be buying a rear light when i goto Poland soon, not for £50 though. :)

Look forwards to the pics, which light have you gone for, the reverse light or foglight one?

i got the light with a red fog light. it means i dont have a reverse light, but you dont need a reverse light for your MOT so its not a problem, and the light may be red now but it still illuminates behind me well enough to see when i'm reversing in the dark.

unfortunately havent got the pic available yet. forgot to bring it to work today

Are you using the red light as a reverse light or have you wired the fog light from the right cluster to the left?

If the latter just put your rear fogs on when you need to reverse ;)

going to wire both up to the foglight and reverse light so they both work in either situation. (y)

Looking forward to seeing the new lights :D Now you can be all symmetrical, like us Brava drivers. Incidentally, when I was in a really hairy reversing situation (2 miles back up a dirt track with a steep drop to one side in pitch black in the snow), I found the rear fogs far more use than the reversing lights anyway so it's all good :)

here's some pics, unfortunately they're crap, so i'll have to try again when i've read the camera instructions

Ok so other way around from what i thought you'd be doing... do you not need a white light ofr MOT time? Or for people to see your reversing?

Nope. I checked this with top MOT guy at the garage while I was getting the Marea done. He gave me a coffee and showed me the documents. They test for functioning fog light/s but not reverse lights.

looks good so you can see more now reversing??
i have this problem with the sporting cant see a d*mn thing when reversing only one reverse light .. (n)
this is got me thinking now to get a set of mk2b light from over your place soo my sporting can be symetrical too.. i like it!!

Couldnt you fit a brighter bulb?

I was having an experiment last night by covering my reverse light (bit of tape) and seeing if i could see just with the for light, i could but if a dog or child ran out you wouldnt see them in as well. I know that was with only 1 rear fog. But doing the same the other way (with 1 reverse light) i could see fine.

look on ebay uk and you'll easily find a mk2 punto that is breaking for parts. just decide if you want 2 reverse lights or 2 fog lights, that will dictate which side you buy. i dont know about the law in the netherlands, but in the uk you dont need a reverse light but you must have a rear fog light, so i didnt realy have a choice it had to be 2 foglights. although i could have stuck a red bulb in a reverse light to make it a foglight, but those red bulbs arent very bright or very red usually, and the colouring comes off them fairly easy.

tbh now that i've got both fog lights wired up together i think i can see better than with the reverse light, there's a good amount and spread of light.

i've tried red LED foglights before, they dont work very well, i've had brighter candles, and the light doesnt spread at all. even the 7 led ones are crap, and anything bigger wont fit in the light (n)

they arent even safe to use as brake lights imo.

Get a bike light from halfords! Or alternatively get a spot light and mount it on the rear then if you have to reverse a long way switch it on!

i've given the rear lights some eyeliner :D
i sprayed black around the outside of the lights. you can tell in the first pic, but from a more rear angle you cant even see it (altho you can see the shadow). it makes the lights a bit different and i'm pleased how it worked out.

also thought i'd post a better rear pic that isnt blurry. all clean, simple and symmetrical now :)

and a pic from dalton park today coz i saw a nice coupe and had to get a pic with it :slayer:
