Good morning everyone.

Bravo 1.4 T-Jet 2007 (198)

I replaced the oil filter of the Bravo we bought, on Saturday.

My concern is that the filter I took out does not look like any of the ones I see on the online shops.

It looks like the first one but also has some plastic spacer with a spring. I was supplied a GUD M28 (of which I cannot find a picture now) onto which we transferred the "spacer" and spring. I just feel uncomfortable with it because I don't see filters for the Bravo with the spring.

Can you please advise which one is the correct one for my car?

Thanks.

Wow, thank you. It is exactly this. Thanks for the help.

My worry now is: Do I have the correct one? It seems there was a lot of fiddling with the car. The Bravo I have's filter housing does not have a cap and it is not as easy to reach as on the video. The filter I took out had a spring that sticks out above the filter and doesn't really fit.

I will ask on that forum for the link you sent.

Thanks anyway. At least I am on the right track.

The link was just an example of the different filter types because that was what you were asking about. Not the filter location In link because it is a totally different engine.

If you look carefully at the linked thread the owner had to transfer a plastic plate and spring to his plastic filter cover. It looking like your first photo of filter.

Normally the spring and plate
Remains part of the cap but can become loose and stick on the filter that is when they need transferring to the new filter .

The filter you removed did it look like your picture 1 or picture 2?

The filter you put in did it look like 1 or 2?

On your filter cap did it say purflux?

If your filter cap has purflux on it you need a filter that looks like your first picture.

If your filter cap has ufi on it you need second type of filter.

The filter reference you fitted does not match either of those filters and from my research is not for any version of the bravo.

Get the filter you removed out of the bin and look at it-does it look like photo 1 or photo 2 or the filter you put in?

Thanks for the reply. What is UFI?

It looks like the 1st one but also has a spring extending the height with maybe 3cm.

Is there a way to find a picture of the filter that should be in there? Then I can change it to what it should be. My fear now is that the wrong filter with spring is in there.

Post a photo of what you removed.
Do not throw the spring and plastic disc away you need it.

Purflux and ufi are makers of oil filter systems.

If you look on the black plastic cover that you unscrew to remove filter it probably has purflux or ufi moulded into it so you know which filter you need.

Yes you have put the wrong filter in.

Thanks Jack.

We fitted the new filter with everything we removed from the old one putting on new filter. I had to break the clips to remove the plastic thing.

Attached are pictures of the old filter without the extras. The car is my son which is not 450km from me.

That is a filter that looks correct for a purflux housing.

The filter reference number you previously posted does not match that filter and is not listed as fitting any model of bravo.

I would be concerned about the wrong filter being fitted to the car.
