that doesn't wash i'm afraid. you just end up wasting police time when they come to your door with a court summons.
i fixed penalty is much more preferable than having to go to court.

In most cases its unlikely you'd wriggle out of it.
I probably could admit to occasionally doing 10mph faster than the posted limits. On a motorway. In town, you wont see me doing more than 30mph. You got busted doing 37% faster than the speed limit in an area where pedestrians are likely to be wandering around. We've all seen the stats saying that 80% of people hit at 30mph survive, and that at 40mph 80% die. Its 30 for a reason, and if it went to court, i think you'd have a hard time justifying speeding in a built up area i'm afraid...

no one would get mown down if they looked were they were going. and dont say kids running out, if theres kids runing round then the parents dont give a toss.

Bull****. Unless I put my child on a lead. When you're old enough to have kids green you will realise that it is impossible to keep them on a leash all the time. Surly you had one kid at scholl who got run over - it happens.
But to reduce the riskof death the speed limits are put in place. Agree with them or not they are the law and it is there for a reason. I personally think the speed limit should be lowered in some areas especially around housing estates. However, I also think it should be raised for the motorways. Whatever my thoughts are I still cant change the law. If I break it I pay the price for it.
Would you burgle somebodys house if you thought it was ok to do so? I doubt it. The law is the law. Simple as.
Back to original post. You were speeding - just pay up.

i agree with the limits and 40+ in a 30 is pretty stupid. but im sory if people were more careful there would be a lot less accidents.

i accept kids are hard to control, but what i dont accept is when they run out in the road and the parents try to blame the driver. bullsh1t if you cant control them you shouldnt have them.

I understand your point too. Same with cyclists. If you have a licence you are instantly to blame BUT if you are doing a slower speed the impact of somebody elses mistake could be lifesaving.
It doesnt just come down to pedestrians. Some argue that they are capable of speeding because they know the roads/can handle their car. What they cannot controil is other drivers. People make mistakes - its part of human nature so if we can all slow down a little just in case one of those mistakes happen the world will be a safer place.

i think we should all go outside and give a stanger a cuddle, its just made me feal better!
lol

what about this scenario

the letter ask who is the driver etc.

it states it has photgraphic evidenc etc.

u say u were at wok atthe time
and work can prove that to you

so what happens then>>

or it could be papa lazeroff from roystan vasey with a mask on pretending to be you while driving your cars twin brother while snorting salt off the dashboard (heance getting done for speeding)

YOUR MY WIFE NOW DAVE!

just a theory mind lol

my ex gf got pulled for 61 in a 30 (about 12 years ago)

when she got to court she pulled out the asthma attack excuse (she did have bad asthma) and said she was rushing home to get her inhaler.

Got her boss, doctor and family members to confirm the asthma.

Got 6 points and £200 - £300 fine.

Jammy git

she used to win a tenner on the lottery about once every 6 weeks as well

Oh how i hated her by the end :)

not much to do with the original post i know but it STILL rankles me :)

g5een, your last comment was totaly *****ING stupid! even by your standerds,as a kid you are not clued up on road saftey, you know know the basics but dont understand the realitys of them, other kids being knocked over, is just something you hear about.

Will never happen to me Im to carefull,to fast.

You are the ADULT driving the potentieal cause of death to such a kid,the word being ADULT! you should know these things, thats why they invented hazard perception tests for this very situation.

It is your responsibilty to look out for these situations as a driver because if you dont ? and god forbid you hit a kid you will proberbly kill them at that speed! and for you to make that stupid statment makes MY BLOOD BOIL,a kid is not giving it that mutch thought he/she just wants to get to the other side!

I have personal experiance of a young kid that was hit my town,by a car that was doing more than 30mph in a 30 zone and luckily she survived but she will never be the same.

Know what you are talking about before making stupid non cualifide statments like that,or even better just shut the fu*k up.

Scotty.

g5een, you dont have kids do you? If you did then that stupid comment wouldnt have been mentioned. I do have kids and they are well behaved, but it only takes a second for something to go wrong, and things do go wrong, believe me. If a car was doing 11 mph slower then the reaction time would be so much quicker and the car, if the driver was reading the road correctly, then an accident may be avoided, if not then the damage to the child would be significantly less.

Everybody knows the risk of speeding, you know you are breaking the law, pay up and shut up. Dont do it again, if you do then risk more points and more fines.
As for no camera signs, imagine a bank robber in court saying there were no camera signs so should be let off - bit extreme but a law has been broken all the same.

im entitled to my opinion, and that is people are careless whether behind the wheel or walking down the road.

you can go on about calling me a child, it doesnt bother me im not kicking and screaming, trying to prove that im right or wrong. ive just voiced an opinion which im sure many people would agree with.

im not the one with the fine btw. no one knows me let alone how i drive so dont lecture me on life.

a kids just lookig to get to the other side? where the **** are the parents at this point?! no i dont have kids but you sound like bad parents to me.

there has to be a camera sign within a mile of any camera. but they can be hidin.

life is to short to look back

Granted green you are entitled to an opinion. However, calling me a bad parent .... oh deary deary me.

Both my kids are top of their class in all their subjects. They hold respect for elders which is missing from a lot of the youth nowadays. They are polite and well behaved (as well behaved as kids will be).

Kids are kids. You will find out one day.

Wimmy, I sure as hell hope g5een doesn't find out one day, as c*nts like him breeding is what is dragging our society down. His ignorance and total stupidity should never be passed down to another generation.

We need to let scum like that sit at the bottom of the gene pool and die in their own festering filth.

listen all you all seem to be moaning

but everyoen on here has easily gone over the speed limit

ok the guy got caught and shoudl pay up etc.

but cut the bull you all speed he just got caught..

If you are going to make such strong personal statments as that?
At least have the Bal* to put your name to it.
No one wants a slagging match its just diffrent views/opinions being put out,we surley are all adult enough to understand that.
And yes every body proberbly has been over the speed limit,i dont think any one is haveing a dig at the original poster, just statting there thoughts and opinions, and not only to the original post but to what has been said by who ever within it,and everybody is entitled to that.
Scotty.

ok G5een, go and tell the parents of a 16 yr old that was killed by someone speeding, he was walking his cycle home with some friends, the car was speeding and the driver didnt see the pedestrian.

Or how about if something goes wrong, ie puncture, car pulls out in front of you so you take avoiding action, higher speeds the damage is more or the avoiding action is more severe.

And my children are very well behaved, I never said they werent. But kids will be kids, I went to a child knocked over by a car, he rode his bike in front of it, the car was not speeding and still the child bullseyed the windscreen. Since the car was going slow, ie under 30 mph in a 30 limit, the child was discharged from hospital that day - that is a good result but going 41 in that occassion the child may not be here now. OK the child was at fault but he is still alive due to the driver being alert and NOT speeding.
