The job does not need a Fiat specialist

This would be an expensive way to go

It’s not a complicated swap with the correct equipment. It’s not a complicate fabrication job to modify the axle

What is complicated is to find someone who is willing to do the job at a reasonable price

20 years ago you could have gone to virtually any village garage and they would have sorted it. They have pretty much all gone now.
That’s indeed the challenge. Booked into Turin Motors for next week. Will let you all know how it goes. 👍🏻

I’ll have a look, thanks.

Thanks for the time for that response Dave. But way above my ability, so will save that to take to a ‘friendly garage’.

Thanks, I’m going to try Turin Motors on Monday. 👍🏻
That’s it back from Turin Motors. New rear axle, shocks and suspension mounts. £1,100. Still needs CV boot (still waiting for part from Italy) and slave master to do for next visit. 👍🏻

And how did you find them?
Wehn I came out of the trade, and couldn’t do stuff myself that needed a ramp, they were always very obliging and knowledgeable…to be honest I knew most of them personally anyway…but having lived a fair way away near Skipton, I’ve not used them in 15yrs or more so am interested to know, as the daughter still lives in Leeds, and has my cast off MKl panda cross

Chris (chap in the office) was a nice bloke and very knowledgeable. I had to call them a couple of times for an update, and they didn’t do the sticking clutch which I’d asked; but no biggy that can get done when the CV boot comes in. I’m using them again, and I’m a fussy bugger, so I’d say your daughter will be grand. 👍🏻

Excellent, cheers

Hi Pandacheck - I’m looking for this to be done and I’m quite local. Can you tell me what you asked them to do to sort the Axel and what you needed to provide them with? Thanks in advance!

Oh, I also have the clutch issue!

If you want the specific question p’check asked I’d send him a personal message, that way he’s likely to get an email notification…
However, you could just ring Turin Motors and ask them what they did specifically to his car and tell them what you need.
The topic has been widely discussed on here, even if the search function is a bit hit n miss or scattergun on results.

My 100HP back axle is going on the Multijet (100HP is an insurance right-off). These are the axle differences.

100HP ABS sensor is at 12 o'clock. Mine also has braided brake hose with banjo fitting at caliper end. A normal female flare nut would have been better but this works ok.

Drum brake axle. ABS sensor sits ahead of the wheel spindle (9 o'clock on, left - 3 o'clock on right).
