General leaking tailgate

hi guys,

not sure if its a common prob but i have a 3 door stilo, with a leaking tailgate if we have heavy rain or i wash it.

its not actually wet in the boot just as i open the boot you can hear water and some times lt leaks out of the plastic inside trim.

im assuming its coming from the hinges but not had chance to have a decent look.

any one else had this issue?

i had a leaking on the roof, where are the holes to catch the upper trunk(for bycicles etc etc)

would the roof rack clips cause the water to build up in the actual boot?

Do you have a skyroof as these can leak

no, no sunroof, or sky roof, just plain 3 door model,

its not actually wet in the car just in the actual tailgate its self.

you can check the radio aerial, or the taillight seal, or the tailgate seal itself.

try to follow the track of the wet zones, to discover the "hole"

I had this problem on my 5 door. It was the rubber seal of the wiper spindle where it pressed on the rear window. Just put some silicone sealer between the circular rubber seal and the glass.

Number plate holes can also cause water ingress
