I am looking for advice, perhaps other people expirience with the dualogic... whether it does worth to consider one, or it is better go with manual

i was reading earlier treads and it seems gearbox rather causing more troubles?

my idea is that manual is simple, good (if it brakes, easy to sort it out) on the other hand i do not like position of the gearbox (not exactly the perfect place for one) so it might be annoying chaging gears (in fact was riding once 500 ferrari limited ed and didn't like position of gearbox)

HELP?

The gearstick position in the 500 is perfect. It's weird for about 5 minutes or so then you start to wonder why all cars don't have the gearstick coming out of the dash.....

If you want auto go auto. The gearbox problems are few and far between, don't forget its always the bad things you hear about, and it's normally electonic problems rather than mechanical problems, so not mega buck if it costs you (y)

I've borrowed a new Panda off a garage as a courtesy car it has the same gear set up (waits for the 500 faithful to start kicking and screaming about how the 500 is not a panda cos its just so much better than that isn't it?) and while it feels odd for a little while it is very good and going back to my car with its floor shift is always a bit of a wrench as tbf its better on the dash. Although I do have one question i'm not sure of as it is a different car between Panda and 500 and maybe hopefully they re-routed the the steering column. That would be if you don't have midget feet (i'm only a size 9 so hardly out of the ordinary) do your toes contact the steering column with every clutch depression on a 500?

I'm size uk 12 and find it easy enough to change gears. I suppose its preference in the end. Are you happy enough to go Auto or Manual? Any preference? I don't know whether this can be done in the UK, but here sometimes you can request a weekend test drive. Or a day test drive. Gives you some time to decide.

:yeahthat:

Just feels strange when you get back into another without it like that :p

when I get back into our Peugeot after a few days of driving the 500, if I'm paying more attention to what is going on outside the car when changing gear, my hand faffs about in the air at the centre of the dashboard until I remember which car I'm in!

agree on the 500 gear position being good. my other car has a column shift (esg) which is also easy to get used to and leave the middle of the dash free for a fridge!
