Yes the preperation is the key

., i used cellulose base paints, and pro equipment, but the same can be done with aerosols.,., we were painting a punto that colour so i killed 2 birds with one stone.,.,
Go to somewhere like halfords and pick whatever colour you like, dont forget to ask for plastic primer and laquer aswell and one of them multi-packs of sandpaper(There only a couple of pound).,.
Give the area to be painted a nice rub down with p1200 paper, this gives the primer grip. then put on a coat of plastic primer, you dont need much of this just make sure you dont miss anywhere.,.,
When thats dry start spraying the paint on but dont be tempted to get it all done i one go or it'll drip

, give it about 10 mins between coats.,.
When the paint is done start on the laquer, this can be put on slightly thicker than paint but just be carefull not to overdo it.,
Id give about 2-3 coats of laquer.,
The thicker the laquer, the more glassey it will look but too much in one layer can look foggy.,.,
when the laquer is dry, rub the piece down with p2000 paper (used wet and soapy, dont worry it wont ruin the paint).,., when thats done the laquer will be nice and smooth, now just rub it with compound like t-cut or something.,., the more you polish it the better it'll look.,.
Job Done!..,
It sound pretty daunting now that im reading over this but it not too bad

.,., you'll do great!
