just a quick MOAN about a tyre fitter & mot station that is sometimes know as 'Slow'fit
Mot for the other halfs standard cinq sporting.
Checked everything, immaculate, checked tyre pressures even topped up the gearbox oil.
~I even left cam belt kit in boot for them to see - i think it says 'im not stupid, dont push it'.
One reason i bought the car was it had really nice tyres! But Kwickfit managed to FAIL it on tyres!
One, they claim has a deep gash! - Funnily enough i got a puncture on that wheel yesterday! -, well it turned out to be a dented rim from a pothole - so i got a garage to fit the tyre to a spare wheel.
While removing the wheel when it went down i went over it with a fine toothcomb. No gashes or nails etc! and i have just had another look... NOTHING.
Then the other tyre is apparently illegal! WTF its the nicest tyre iv ever had on a cinquecento! Its fine! they claim less than 1.6mm! its more like 5 all over!!!
Now why didn't i ask them to show me in the garage instead of saying 'Thank you'! as i knew the tyres were good. I think i was in shock!
- no more business for them!
They wanted £50 per tyre Nankang 611 (with an online discount) so i just ordered 4 for £130 including delivery! from another company.
My car needs new tyres anyway, so il just put them on mine after they fit them for me and get minimal profit for themselves!
One good thing about Kwickfit is that they are sooo polite and friendly whilst lying to your face! I spose it helps con people!
next time im going to one of those government emergency vehicle testing centres! who do no repair or sales work what so ever. They would prob do a better safety test too.
sorry gotta tell someone! Should i go and object - or will they be even worse when it comes to the retest?
