Just a word of caution, be careful with the old airbag units, if dual stage (which I suspect they are) then although deployed they may still be live if its only stage 1 which has fired, so treat them as you would an none deployed airbag - in addition to this you cannot dispose of them in the bin, you'll need to take them to the tip to be disposed of as hazardous waste.

Wow never knew that! I think the gp has those staged things. Tbh with everything I disconnect the battery for 30mins minimum. Didn't know they where hazardous waste either!

Interesting. That passenger one is still only a single stage though if it's only one plug. Dual stage have 2 plugs.

All this stage talk is making me worried/confused. Is it possible that this is a 2stage bag and they modified the plugs? Or is it possible that only the driver is covered on that 2stage thing?

I will have 2 plugs if dual stage, it is possible only the drivers bag is dual stage, but not sure TBH.

:/ well the bags are out of a gp so I'll have to wait till Monday to check mine... Fingers crossed there right while where on about bags, will I need a new crash sensor?

In other news... F1 race on Sunday :D can't wait

Crash sensor is built into the ECU I believe (it is on the mk3 Panda, and thats a similar ECU).

Is the ECU mounted on the floor, in the centre beneath the dash?

Can someone please clarify, crash sensors apparently the gp has 3, 2 sides and 1 front. 1st where are they? And secondly if its only the front airbags that have gone off do I only need to replace the front one?

Front is the ECU as previously mentioned, I believe there will be one on each side about the bottom of the 'B' pillar also, but exact location I don't know.

Right check list. Iv replaced
1.subframe
2.shock
3.d/link
4.track rod end
5.topmount
6.Wishbone
7.passenger airbag
8.drivers airbag
9.dash
10.windscreen
11.airbag ecu reset
12. Front crash sensor as of today.

Have I missed anything super important?
