Yeah, I can see the bill for this coming to many thousands if new parts are used.

Unfortunately as I really don't want to admit it. You may be right :/ bummer started to like this car to :'(

So far its looking at about 450-500 but that relys on this company being able to reset my air bag ecu. Can't for the life of me find a 6bag airbag ecu :'(

Good news rang the company today, they say they can reset the airbag ecu. That I'll save me a few Pennys :) plus I got a few spares that I can sell to get some more pennys. This repair is still on :)

Its not an insurance claim. In all honesty what's the general opinion. Considering subframe damage and airbag damage what's the general concensus?

Personally, unless an extremely difficult spec to replace (IE loads of factory fitted options on the car), I'd get another and strip this and sell the parts to recover most / all of the cost of the replacement GP.

It'll never be the same again having had a set of airbags deploy and a heavy knock on the suspension.

I see. The knock wasn't that bad and as long as parts are replaced and not bodged... Why wouldn't it be as good as normal? I'm confused :(

No matter how minor you fell the knock is, the fact the airbags deployed says otherwise. They're triggered upon rate of deceleration, for a car to decelerate fast enough for and SRS system to be activated something has to have given - and normally this is the chassis.

When your airbags deployed were all the windows shut? If so have a google about air pressure differences when airbags deploy, and how is can deform body panels and seals etc.

You got any pics of it yet

I'm not saying I dont believe you.I'm just genuinely confused um just a few close up pics of airbags and dash board. Nothing from subframe yet.
