Technical key reprograming

Technical key reprograming

A registered copy of Fiat ECUScan will do the job, and the ECU code card of course. Maybe one of the kind hearted people on here could even help.

Yep, I have the same dilemma. I got my 2nd hand key off ebay for reprogramming, but I have not yet payed the £50 for the registered copy of fiatecuscan. If I knew the program is going to be useful in the future, I would probably just buy it.

Not sure whether it's changed with later versions of FES, but it was only possible to reprogram the remote control part of the key, not the immobiliser transponder chip.

that's correct, you will need the original transponders which came with the original car keys because the immo code algorithm is stored inside them - without the matching transponder the car won't start....

So, there is no point going down the second hand key from eBay and then reprogramming route to get a spare?

No, that won't work....
the only way to produce a new working transponder is to read the eeprom file of the bodycomputer, use this file with a key cloning device like Zed Bull to precode a blank ID48 transponder and fit this new transponder in a new/second hand Fiat key.
Then you can use FES to program this key to your bodycomputer, it will be accepted because it now has the correct immo algoritm in the transponder.

I've got the registered version, if your near Wolverhampton your welcome to use it.

Oops, I have not been back to this site for a while

Thanks Shadeyman, thats a very kind offer. I will have to buy you a pint for your troubles.

I only have a spare key with no remote locking, so I want to swap the blade and immobiliser into the ebay key. Once the ebay key has been successfully programmed.
