Key Question Again - (my turn to play the muppet!)

The battery's in both my blue keys have now died and I am now using the key to turn the lock, which I worked out how to do after reading an old manual - god when was the last time I actually used a key in a car door!

Anyway, is it simply nip to Woolies for a battery or do I have to take it to the dealers for a new one and do I need to get them re=programmed (I have the re/brown one)?

I managed to lock myslef out Saturday before last just before loading the car up to leave for a break. I was standing with suitcase beside me with both keys calling the car every name under the sun whilst my kindly neighbours pissed themselves laughing...just wait till he leaves the top down on his Z3...

No need to take them to a dealer (probably cost a fortune there anyway). A wee asian gut at our local market supplied me with the right ones for around a fiver for two (each key takes two). Take the old ones with you.
