KEY FOB REPROGRAMMING

got my red key 2 blue keys (LIGHTS ON FOB WORK) black tag with numbers on (the code) ive read the manual on reprogrammeing the keys ??????
HOW DO YOU DO IT AS MY KEY WONT OPEN THE CENTRAL LOCKING I HAVE JUST PUT NEW BATERIES IN LOST CODE HELP HELP PLEASE PLEASE IM GOING CRAZY AGAIN

my manual says somthing about pressing a button neat the light in the car then pressing the button on the key while holding it about 40cm away. not got the book with me now so cant remember the exact procedure it says though.

Yes doing that but the light is not staying on does the red key need to be there too ??
