Morning all,

My 1999 Ducato has been without a battery for the last few days and now I have refitted it the immobilised wont recognise the key, just wondering if anyone has used this company before as I am 140 miles from my nearest Fiat dealer

Hi, I have just sorted my key code fault on my 1997 230 2.5tdi. I sent my key and immobiliser box to Autotronics for repair but they found no fault with the parts, they charged my just a test fee and returned the parts. It turned out to be the immobiliser unit on the injection pump. I have removed it and wired direct to the solenoid. My van had been stood for months but I put the battery on charge before I tried to start it. Check if you have voltage to the connector socket for the pump wires.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies much appreciated, I only have the one black key and I have looked at removing the unit from the injection pump but it looks to be a bugger of a job in such a tight space and with Autotronics charging £120 to recode the unit it seems to be the best way:confused:

Glazig,
I am now in the same boat, after waiting two weeks to get the unit back and a spare key cut it has "no fault found" and the key code light still stays on. When you took the immobiliser unit off was it a fairly simple job and I assume wiring it direct to the solenoid was straight forward?
cheers

It has 'forgotten' the EKA code while the battery was disconnected. There will be a procedure to input this code, after you have discovered what it is by calling the main agency and proving your ownership of the vehicle. Once re-input and running again, always connect a slave battery across the terminals when removing the battery, so the ECU does not discharge and forget the code again. This EKA code is nothing to do with the key code.

Hi Roland,
Thanks for that, I will have a look into it.

Hi, I have looked high and low in the foot wells were Google says it should be and I can't see a switch anywhere.

Hi Rob, I removed the immobiliser unit from the pump by drilling the retaining 'bolts' holding the unit enough to allow it to slide forward and then cutting the wire joined to the fuel solenoid. With a 12v feed direct to the solenoid the van should start. I found the wiring loom connecting plug going to the unit had a 12v ignition feed on the black wire of the three wires at the plug so I have used that one as the feed. I hope this helps you get sorted. Dave.

Corcai,

I eventually found the fuel cut switch and the van is up and running again!, I really can`t thank you enough you are a true star :worship:(y)
