Hello,

has anybody else had problems with the key code of non-remote central locking keys?
when i try to start the car at least 50% of the time the key code light stays on and i have to retry several times. i took all metal objects off the car which seemed to help initially but now the problem has recurred.
can the immobiliser be bypassed/turned off so that the car just starts?

Is it possible to replace the Fiat code box with an after market one? there seem to be a lot available as alarm/immobiliser units.

after market immobilizer are added protection and not a replacement for faulty factory fitted immobilizers. key code box is mated to your ecu, once fitted it will not work on any other car.you can not by pass it[may be if you are an electronics expert you could?]so if you get one ,make sure its new and not been fitted to any thing else.aireals are not matched so can be swapped from similar systems.my guess would also be the key code box....make sure the battery is fully charged incase this has an effect on the key code box.............................
