Styling KC3 Project Silver

More new parts just arrived. :D but still waiting for my new battery. :(.

Was planning on building an alloy induction and scoop for the new CDA, but had another idea and will be meeting with a Carbon and fibreglass specialist this weekend to see if it can be made in Carbonfibre to match the filter housing.

Hopefully it will not be to exspensive but would look super.. :)

The turner will mill the threads, put something he calls a spring in the existing hole and remill I think, I should be able to use the same plug with no problems.

Thats the best thing to do. Others simular aplications are in-sert and helicoil, etc

Btw very nice air filter. Looking forward to these mods.
I quite like your style

Where will you be putting the airmeter?

Hi Oli,

Re air flow, I think it will sit just infront of the cda, but will need to speak with the tuning guy and maybe pre design something to see if or how it should work.

Maybe I will try the fitting whilst on the Dyno to see where will be best.
Im hoping it will work as well as the GSR kit or better.

Spoke with the tuner today, Air flow meter should sit half way between the throtle body and the filter and the scoop ramming the air should help at high rpm.

Also will be putting a plate over the rad area to help with the cooling. Remember seeing something like this done on some B's in Germany but cant find the link or pics now.

Had the sump plug repaired but looks like he has threaded a new plug for me rather than the old.
Thats the good bits.:) .now for the bad..:(

Picked up the B for a test drive today and to get tracked and discovered that the new TRW track arms are fouling the inside of the discs slightly when cornering.

The ball joint nearest the disc is larger on the TRW than the stock arms were and now everything has tightened up is rubbing on the disc.
Hence why the seller said they are stronger parts(more metal)

Having the larger and thicker 28mm coupe discs may be addding to the problem as the offset is 2mm towards the hub too.

To overcome this, looks like I will need to strip down the calipers and discs to expose the arms and ball joint and file the ball slightly to give clearence.

Will get a better look tommorow when its stripped down.

In a year of driving a B, I've never seen another.. ' be good to hear as well!

Just had carnival weekend in Cyprus for which me the misses and friends took part. :D

Had a fun weekend and was a great party and even spotted another Barchetta.

How great is that. All people have the same style of clothing. I like it.
Over here carnival you see the funniest things. I once saw one dragging a vacuum cleaner with an umbrella fixed in the hose.

Oli,

There was 115 trailers or groups shal I say, for which ours was Versailles themed and one of the larger groups with over 600 participants..
but there was other great themes and some funny dressed groups too. :D

After 2 months waiting for a battery from US, they turn around and say they havent got any left.

But on a good note: :) went around to a couple of stores today and found a simmilar battery that shoud do the job, and was cheaper too.

Its a Varta gel battery and is half the size and weight of what I have now. :)

Will fit it tommorrow and post up pics.

Ok, Tried the new battery today, It works fine and has given me enough room so as to fit my new induction.

Next week I will have a new bracket made to house it and also upgrade the earth strap and then have my new induction fabricated. :D

Ok! Couldnt resist!! and had a go at fitting the new induction too.

I had a few odd bits lying around so managed to get it looking like this.
The final project and design will be alot better and have an air scoop and some kind of heat barrier from the radiator but on a try out it seems to look and work well. :D

Will also need to make a heat shield for the manifold as thats been something on the list needed to do for some time now.

Been shopping around today and also found someone who can fabricate my windstop, It will be made with 3mm clear polycarbonate and be shaped to match my rear bars. Should be ready by the end of the week so i,ll post up pics when its done. :)

Also found a metal fabricator and have a few ideas for some nice mods, so have a few surprises comming up in the future.:D

you think 3mm will be enough? it's quite wind force there. i was thinking about 5mm, also gravure of barchetta logo in the middle... and some wind bumps like barchetta dedica had.

this is somehting i made long time ago. idea to attach it to rollbars.

F4ust! I love your video's, There great!! (y)

I also thought about the thickness, but cost jumps from 50euro - 3mm to 130euro for the 5mm and because its polycarbonate I think it shoud be ok.

I was planning on securing it to the bars with velcro straps but your idea looks more secure so If they havent cut the slots i may change this to that of yours.. Thanks!!

I had a mock up windshield made from cardbopard which was thinner and that worked well and showed no problems with the wind. plus i,m also considering filling the rear section so as to create rear sound fill. This will hold onto the windshiled so should hold it firmer.
