Hi all,

My fiat Punto 1.2 easy with Brio had couple of issues along the run and it is just under a year old.

- Aircon rattling - took it to dealer and found no fault. With time it sorted itself out. Each time I took it to dealer the aircon decide to behave. Even though I recorded it they still couldn't find the cause but so far so good. Maybe a sticker got stuck to one of the fan blowers.

- Both Tail lights were steaming quiet badly, even though on a nice sunny day with no rain they just steam and somewhere by the boot hatch water was leaking through. Now all is fixed by dealer, lights replaced after couple of time taking it to dealer.

my lights seem worse than that.. , did you have patchy alloys too..??

Charlie I had one of my rear lights replaced and I havent had anymore condensation in it. The other light has cleared during this hot weather so now I have both lights clear. I will see if this continues to be the case this winter.

On the second one, they told me should clear it did clear but as soon i washed the car saw condensation. Maybe you could try and poor some water on the rear and see what happens. Fiat are known for having light condensation issues anyway. I hope your car get sorted out soon.

Reguarding the rear lights steaming up, my 2012 punto did the same thing but not as bad as in your pictures. I never got to the bottom of it, now that I part ex it for my new punto, I hope the dealer fixes it for the next owner.

Another update, after having both tail lights replaced few months ago, they both building up condensation again on the inside. The lights must have issue. The car is booked for repair to dealer to see check it out and see what is the problem. Anyone has any input on this? Do you think it is a fault design of the lights or an issue with the car body?

I wud say its a design fault mine do it and we have have the lights of clear the light in the house were warm then put in garage to cooled so wont going straight back into cold and still do the same

Does seem to be a few rear lenses with problems. I think perhaps because they're mounted high up, they don't get even the slightest bit of warm air from inside the boot area that lower-mounted lights might get. Plus, they're LED lights, so they don't get hot like regular bulbs, meaning once condensation forms, it takes an age to clear.

I'd just take it back as much as you can be bothered to, in the hope you might eventually end up with a decent pair of lenses. At least you're hopefully prolonging the time till you get LED failure - that's another fault on the Punto 2012 and Evo, which also requires a whole new rear light cluster!

The aircon rattle (sounds to me like you meant the fan?) is fairly common on the Grande Punto/Evo/2012 and seems to be down to a leaf getting into the fan. The Alfa MiTo (basically a Punto underneath) has the same issue.

The car is booked in now for next week. I am just tempted to get rid of it now. Thinking ordering an alfa romeo giulietta with extended warranty. My car has been to the dealers over 8 times now for faults but nothing major, but I do know the tail lights are not cheap to replace when they go wrong. I guess it is like any other car.

To me I find it very embarrassing, a car that age having condensation building. I guess is what you pay for I suppose.

Regarding the aircon, the fan rattling seems to only happens during winter period, sounds like a leaf stuck in there. I will keep you updated. Regarding the car.

Many Thanks again for all your comments and input
