Just mashed my front nearside alloy wheel pretty bad, downhill in rain hit the kerb pretty hard turning. I have took the wheel off and put the spare on and the wheel is noticeably bent inwards from the impact. The brake pedal is juddering when braking as if the caliper is bent?

I have hit the kerb before and knocked the alignment out which they sorted in half hour with tracking.

Can post pics if it helps, can someone give me an idea of what damage has been caused and how pricey the parts, i am guttered

the bottom arms dont bend on these when they hit solid items its the strut that bends just above the hub
of course its quite possible steering arm bent too
needs inspecting fully visually before driving anymore just in case pinch bolt casting has cracked too
scrappy is usually cheapest way to get mobile again safely

Thanks for replies will take a good look in the light in morning :(

quite easy to do
dont beat yourself up we all have accidents
hub and strut say £40 tops from breaker
steering arms are £18 new plus its advisable to replace track rod end too seeing as its taken a bang £13
you might not need arm and rack end though if its hit it straight side on
i do loads

Ok had a look, the disk is definetley bent, got some new ones. The hub looks ok, spun it a few times and it looks alright.

Not done the wishbone/struts before are they easy enough are there any tips?
Im working from the haynes manual so hopefully will go ok.. lol

Might even post a pic of the alloy, im sure its guna have to be weighed in..

nut under bonnet difficult without a windy gun but opossible with time patience and an allen key in middle
bottom bolts to hub clean up threads with wire brush then oil copiously
only use hand tools to undo them and tighten up occasionally clean threads with wire brush then oil then undo some more
take your time
strut comes out easy with body jacked up but you might need a friend to help you put another one back on

New wishbone and suspension (£56)
New disks £26
Wheel refurbishment £78+vat...

Why do i always learn the hard way :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

Thanks for help anyways lol...

I was surprised too lol il take their word for it they have a job on their hands. I would be screwed if not as they are momo gt2 and i wouldnt get hold of another

Disc's should be done in pairs
And as a result - you'll need new pads too
For balance and safety aspect of it all

Alloy wheel - go 2nd hand it'll be cheaper and easier too
Wont be perfect but it dont look bad
For example

And dont forget to have it re-tracked as the knock WILL have made it move

I have momo gt2's and cant get hold of another one anywhere else, and they said its repairable so i trust them, ill save the receipt so if my car crashes as a result of that wheel, providing im alive to sue i will lol.

And yes i bought a new set of disks, new suspension strut, new wishbone, and as soon as i get my alloy back wheels will be tracked and new tyres... should have bought them first then i wouldnt have paid for all this.

REMEMBER WHEN YOU NEED TYRES.... BUY THEM lol
