haha,your taste is alot like mine then mate,if a thread has lexus lights in it,its not worth reading,same with those aftermarket bodykits :yuck: its all about OEM and smoothing in my opinion

so yesterday was all happy about new wheels and bing able to lower yada yada yada,and now today i get a message from the ebay seller saying "went to the lock up where the wheels were kept and they have been stolen,sorry for dissapointment"

so now im basically f**ked again,i am so anoyed they would have looked sweeeeeeeeeeeet aswell

Would 185/50r/14 wheels look to small under the arches of a punto mk2 with 50mm drop?

as i have found some mx5 wheels for sale but the are 14s,and have 60 tyres which look well chunky so was thinking of swapping for 50??

im probs gunna end up getting some 15" rover wheels,they look a bit like porsche d90s so if i painted them gloss black with lime green wheel nuts they would look sexy i think

no it wont. fitting 195/45/16s fill up the arches quite nicely and dont effect the rolling radius enough to cause any issues with the speedo/diff etc.

yes they would look better when slammed, that could be said against any wheel of any size, but the gap around them isnt affected. they dont look too big or too small either. only downside to 16s is the cost of tyres.

Have you tryed them on to make sure they fit before you paint them?

Id say smooth out those dimples....will look better without them....

no havent tried them on mate,but they are 4x100 so they will fit with wobbly bolts which i already have from the wheels i have on now,there the only cheap alloys i can get hold off at the moment so they are gunna have to do really
and yeah they probs would look better but im no good with filler of any form and for those wheels its not worth the effort tbh

No. Heres the same car with 16s and 17s



17s are awful on these cars. 16s are more suitable, even if the tyres are a bit more...

I've gone into a habit of gawking through threads, liking how your car is progressing, yo seem to have a lot of wheel ideas for it! If your going to lower, go for coil overs, theyre not too dear and you can have the car sitting level all round, a near impossibility with springs

and yeah wheel wise i hate to be a sheep so i just go for anything i havent seen before and concidering my budget theres not many out there haha
and yeah i hear what your saying about coilovers but if i were to get them that means i cant lower for like 4 months(money issues),so was gunna get springs and then coilovers in august(payrise) at the earliest

Finally bought sme new shoes

right i finally bought some new shoes,and i know there know borbets or bbs but for 65 quid im happy,right now they look horrible,but i have visions of shiny black gunna look niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice i promise

edit: gunna spray them gloss black with lime green wheel nuts and centre caps gloss black too,then get them wrapped in some 195/45/15,and get a 50mm drop to sort out the stance a little bit

as long as u are aware this will put ur speedo out. iirc its 195/50/15s for a similar roiling radius. look forward to seeing the finished article tho.

yeah i was told this but tbh im not to fused as it isnt much of a safety issue,and yeah so do i,projects actually going somewhere now

not much of a safety issue, but could be a cop issue when u think ur going the speed limit and ur actually speeding. best have ur sat nav on the go till u get used to the different readings shown.
