So basically ive got a long way to go haha
woah woah woah, dont spray anything black just to make dents and scratchs not stand out! get that 800 grade sandpaper out and filler from halfords and make em look new! before u spray them ;p

lol i really dont think you understand how badly they are damaged mate haha, they are a wreck when i have charged my camera i will get a photo of theme and you can all see the damage, they are focked haha

for a small increase in costs, id personally save for a little longer and get them done professionally. resale value would be better too as they will look better for longer.

true, only thing is i dont like people building my car for me really anything that i can get stuck into myself i like doing and alloys is quite a good thing for me to set my mind on doing

i can fully understand that.... BUT being ur pride and joy, there are some things best left for the pros, not necessarily for the finish, but durability for sure. the alloys will look better for longer which i would put priority over doing every last thing myself.... thats why i plan to get mine done pro. ive done every mod myself where possible and love doing it, but id not like seeing my hard work get ruined by a few stone chips or by someone changing a tyre for eg.

EDIT: if you wanted to "contribute" towards the wheels, perhapse u could sand em down and add filler to kurb marks if needed. may save some time from preparation when getting powder coated and may even cost a little less.

yeah i suppose you are right, how much is a good price for all 4 wheels??

cause baring in mind i am broke atm im half tempted to just get the new tires on there and run them as they are for a bit and maybe refurb them when my payrise comes along??

what do ya think mate??

Stock alloys refurb from £30/wheel around near me. But can be more expensive depending on what you get done etc.

"If shoes are worth wearing, they're worth repairing"

Same can be applied to alloys :D

haha good moto faz my old pal. i promise i will get some photos up later of the damage and you can try and help me decide, money wise i should jsut wack them on,but not wanting to look like an a**hole wise i should get them refurbed :/

:yeahthat: anything over 55 squids a corner for a "standard" job and ur getting mugged, but again it depends on area and local companies. just keep in mind that u normally get what u pay for, esp with bodyshops etc. shop around and try to get references. also keep in mind that not all of them will remove/refit/balance the tyres so u may also have to consider getting the tyres removed before and after the refurb. a local shop im considering when i got the cash charges from 25 quid a wheel for shot blast and one layer powder coat or from 35 quid for 2 coats and lacquer. google is ur friend... just avoid halfords, iirc they charge 65 a wheel and being halfords, id not trust them painting a wheel bolt, let alone a whole wheel. lol

yeah true, what do you think of me just waking them on for now and then in august when i get my raise getting them refurbed/buying new rims cause im looking to change to borbet a's in august anyway :/ considering how tight money is for me im half tempted to just leave them and then chuck them in august ,im really in a pickle here lol

Just a little tip for finding borbet a's, go on the german ebay (y) Cheaper to buy just shiping but if you find someone who will do it cheap then its all good

depends on the condition of ur alloys and whether u really care how they look as such. my alloys are pretty crappy with poor paint condition and kurbing... but i prefer them over rusty steels so its the lesser of the 2 evils. if u plan on scrapping the alloys in place of some others, id not worry bout refubing them... even if u were to sell them, its unlikely u will get ur money back.... if u plan on keeping them... defo refurb them professionally. also consider the fact that being on a tight budget, whats to say the "new" alloys wont need a refurb as well, so not only do u have the cost of the alloys/shipping, u still have to pay for the refurb. if u find a perfect set of alloys, happy days... but how often do u find that with 2nd hand alloys, and if u have a tight budget, im thinking u aint gunna be getting a new set of borbets.

no defo not a new set mate haha, but as i said in august my wage almost doubles so i will have alot more to play with,so getting the alloys and refurbing them shouldnt be a problem even if i have to do it over a couple of months or whatever :)

then use ur budget for which ever you want more... current wheels refurbed or borbets... no point buying both, unless u plan on keeping both sets for winter/summer or road use/show use etc. if ur set to just do one or the other, make the choice and go with it, then spend ur smaller cash amounts on other things.

yeah thats it you have made my mind up for me (y)im gunna run these alloys as they are for a bit and the cash i save from refurbing them i can get all my other things done like dropping it 50mm and geting new plates etc :D

cheers matey

Right heres a close up of the wheels

right guys i said i would get this photo up a couple of days ago but work got in the way, so here we are a close up of the wheels :)

Right so now the decision is,shall i run them as they are?? or shall i do a little home refurb and spray them black??
