Right my marea weekend is coming up to service time its a 100 16v for those of you that don't know so what would be the bits I need and what's recommended

From what I can think of its
Oil and filter
Plugs & leads

Is there anything else that I have missed and what parts would be best without breaking the bank

Cheers andy

depends on what the mileage is, but id change (considering i sell service kits to garages all day long)

plugs, oil, oil filter, air filter (i think u have induction kit though) and run some fuel treatment through will improve it a little.

If they didnt want it stripping they shouldnt have used nuts and bolts :)

Can't see the point in replacing the leads unless they are creating a misfire. Plugs yes, leads no.

Don't forget new copper ring washer for the sump plug.

Usually you'd be needing to change:

Oil
Oil Filter
Possibly gearbox oil (depends how fussy you are)
Pollen filter (if present)
Wiper blades (if needed)
Sump plug washer
Sparks
Air filter
Coolant top up
Wiper bottle top up

Check:

Wishbones, CV joints, suspension dampers, springs, brake pipes, brake cylinders, shoes/pads, discs/drums, exhaust and mounts, tyres and wheel bolts, bulbs, horn, door hinges (grease), locks, wiper functionality, rocker cover leakage, general leaks.

I'm sure there's more but its a start :)

Oh yes.... Check Tesco for prices of Redex - sometimes they do monster deals on it.

Forte Fuel Treatment I find rather good though. Pricier and its trade only (but can obtain via ebay) but seems to work well in clearing things out, especially for a MOT.
