General its killing me

Hmm I really do want one but at the moment can't really afford one. Plus I still have the tipo and I'm building up the no-claims. Hopefully there will be still some good examples about when I finally get around to buying one.

Or could take the GF up on the offer. She can drive my tipo but if she breaks it she buys me a Coupe. (y)

I think I would feel the same Sammi, although with the MOT looming and dodgy brakes, you do sometimes feel like part exing for something not quite so damn expensive to run!
I gave her a clean today and fell back in love again, it's a love/hate relationship with coupe's I find.

Whats the back seats like? Are they practical?
Surprisingly so. You can get 2 adults in there, though you wouldn't want to cross continents 4-up. You can also get a kiddie seat in the back. Travelling with 2 adults and 2 kids is no problem. Contrast that with the Alfa GTV (built on the same platform) where you can't get anyone in the back if they have legs.

Lol! I managed to squeeze 5 (!) 6ft lads into my coupe to go to footy last tuesday. The guy in the middle of the back seat I felt sorry for. But four is no problems, eveyone is happy. And none of us are what you'd call small either.
The performance was badly affected though, I think I would have been whupped by a N/A (oh the shame!)

How's your coupe H, did you fix the missfire and if so what caused it? be interested to know.

Is it legal to have 5 people in a Coupe, when there are only 4 seatbelts? Surely it's only classed as a 4 seater?

(Car still broke)

Yes, the Coupe hasn't turned a wheel since September 10th.
I think it might have a blocked injector or something (it's not the coilpack, as I've swapped it with a known-good one). Was going to wait and see how FCCUK brakes group buy looked, but might not be able to wait that long. Unfortunately having a Coupe isn't too compatible with having a mortgage....

Just buy a cheaper house(y)

There's a thread on the other forum about costs to keep it running.
I'm too scared to start adding this up.
Plus it needs the belts done & some front brakes:(

Might sell the house and live in a caravan:idea:

Sammi - just saw the thread on fccuk about your crash - since movingto the US I don't really check on here that often.

Glad to hear you are ok, though gutted all round

Plus - I didn't think that LE was all that tbh  - I've been looking too, but for different reasons, I'm also having Coupe-withdrawl symptoms.

Glad to hear you are on the mend.

Just to add to the other comment about a minimum amount for a good coupe, there isn't one really. Make sure you know what you're looking for when buying or get a specialist to take a look at it - stuff like RAC reports aren't worth it for something as relativley rare and they don't look in-depth enough. I sold my n/a for what I thought was a reasonable price given its age (newish), condition (good) and mileage (low), but I see some far worse cars going for far more. Conversely, there was a great 20VT Coupe up for sale on the Coupe forum a couple of weeks back for an absolute steal (2,990) - I would've bitten the guys arm off for it from what I'd heard about it, but he saw the light and withdrew it.

thanks simon.

I really want another coupe, the crash itself doesnt bother me as much as the fact i have lost my car, i would have rather been hurt more if my coupe would have got off lightly - sounds mad i know but i loved that car and i have lost it through something that wasnt my fault.

Through my finanicial status now, it will be about 12 months at least and a total change in my lifestyle before i can afford one again
