Tuning Itb

I have a 1108 cinq sporting and would like to know if i could put ITB on this engine, if so what would i need to make this happen

866 cam
mckritch chip
kv85 leadsported and smoothed inlet

I think you would have gas speed issues with that spec.

sorry to sound a bit thick but what do you mean as not really that good with engines

gas flow issues

inlet air "speed" with throttle bodies could be too low to pick up enough fuel for desired engine speed



at least i think thats what SPD meant... if i was wrong im sure he'll come and kick my ass!!

You'll pretty much have to design and fabricate your own inlet system using the smallest TBs you can get (off a bike) and linkeages to suit. So you'll need to go MPI (Megasquirt). Probably a better fuel pump.

To make it worthwhile you'll probably need a wilder cam than a 866 and a 6 speed box.

An engine swap would probably be easier.

No ass kicking required, spot on summary.

The air needs to be moving at a reasonable speed to get the fuel mixed properly. Inlets that are too big means low air speed that means incomplete fuel atomisation.

If the OP had a lumpier cam, they might work better, but an 866 on standard/worn compression is not going to sook enough.

cheers for all your help guys do you know anybody who has done twin carbs on a cinq or can this type of set up not be done

But carbs will present more issues than ITBs

Atomisation in carbs is entirely down to gas speed, in ITBs it's largely down to fuel pressure.
