I recently had a quote from Adrian Flux, to ensure a modified hlx.

I'm 20, with 1 NCB (no convictions etc)...and he gave me a fully comp. quote for £1388 :-|

Also, when i offered to give the membership number, he said - and i quote - "oh no, i won't be needing that" :s

Firstly, does anyone else think the quote is somewhat high - and any thoughts about the membership number incident?

What's the car mate? Did you tell them about that last mishap?

Nah, i didnt put the previous accident through insurance, and they did tell me if there was no claim, there would be no increase in premium.

But yeah, i agree RR, quite expensive i thought. I thought it would be a couple of hundred cheaper...1000 i would even accept :s

when i've had adrian flux quotes, they've never asked for member number or anything either.
i found them bad for younger drivers, but good for modified. you are a bit of both :S

that not that good mate try ecarinsurance.co.uk i found them alright i got quoted just under £1000

I found the same thing they asked if I was a memeber but didnt ask for anything, they gave me a good offer of £350 TPFT but no courtesy car. For Fully comp it would be around £600. Btw im 21 female 3 points on the licence with 4 yrs no claims .

ecarinsurance

ecarinsurance.co.uk deffo

you get free breakdown cover too!!!!

and everythings done online, hence low prices

oh also with ecarinsurance if you arent on full comp and you have an accident with another vehicle help hire will lend you a courtsey car free of charge, just dont treat it how i did

Try admiral, I know they are sort of the same company as elephant but I swapped from elephant to admiral last year(they're cheaper).
I'm 23,
1 accident in june 04 and affected no claims, cost of the claim was £600 (the cost does make difference)
2 years  ncb, quoted for modded mk1 HGT, £580 (last year)
oh and they like women drivers, my new driver g/f knocked £100 off. and make sure you say you driver another vehicle.
Also your job tends to make a difference, so i kinda bend the truth with that.
Hope that helps.

Sounds dodgy about the membership number. Granted they will only check randomly but did they say that the quote included Fiatboo membership discount?

Darren, were the alloys on it still?
i know there were only 3 left after the bump, but i wanted them anyway, lol

i cant remember but i dont think so :) they have got a marea in so im about to go salvaging :D its gold and still has EVERYTHING apart from the tail lights :D

so i am wanting the interior centre console and thats about it really so im gonna take the headlights and door handles and stick em on ebay :D

haha, trust you, Darren :p

i'm still on holiday, and just got online again, hence the reason for resurrecting this post!

The guy on the fone did not ask even the name of the club - just gave me a quote, and when i mentioned i was apart of a club, only repeated the same quote.

Oh, and the scrappies have taken the wheels off my car, Buzz, but they have them lying in the back somewhere. I took the lights out just before they picked it up! :p

Will try the alternative insurers you guys mentioned when i get back home - hopefully i will be luckier with them.

hey atif which one is yours cause there was a silver and the metalic type green one there when i passed :D
