Is there any way I can increase the preformance of my 1.2 without having to do major modifications to it

Yes

Yes there is!

Fit smaller wheels - this will inturn modify your gearing and increase aceleration to rev ratio - this means at 1500 revs where the bravo is soo slugish you will be picking up speed quicker!

Only thing is you have to change gear sooner but oh well!

Lol

No to be serious mate its a 1.2 - all gains will be minimal and relitivelly specialist or expensive!

Companys dont make things 4 small engine cars so any good modifications will be specialist!

Theres the norm - air filter - exhaust - de-cat - then you should look at in my opinion drive train like gear linkages and clutch sytems!

This will bring you quicker off the line and make transtion between gears quicker - hence making your travel faster!

Look at a re-map or turbo etc its silly money!

An engine swap is £2000 +!

The short gear linkages for the bravo r £320 the air filter £100ish and the exhaust £300ish.

This will improve your BHP by about 5 and poss a lil more torque!

THe biggest gain will probably be the linkages making the car feel a lot more sporty - that will give you the feel good factor back and its deff 1 of my next investments!

Re: Yes

i've got a 1.2 with air filter and powerflow exhaust and i can't really say i have noticed much difference. sounds great now though! 4 branch manifold and de-cat would be a good bet - then get it superchipped

which air filter have you got?

for your 1.2?

i'm going to be getting one soon, however i'm a bit concerned - does it make petrol consumption worse? i had a corolla with an air filter and definately noticed going through petrol quicker - i guess thats cos of driving the car so that i could hear the noise from the air filter though?

Re: which air filter have you got?

i've got a Greens cotton one. i've not really noticed any difference but like you said you find yourself putting your foot down more so you can hear it! pipercross foam ones are supposed to be better. think you have to get a universal one though

Re: Re: which air filter have you got?

Engine Remap (of course!)
1242 16v 8+ BHP and 9lb ft torque ££ ASK ME!££ - but its a lot LESS than you will think and you dont have to change anything and we can put it back to original at any time.

Re: Re: Re: Re: which air filter have you got?

I dont think someone wanting some improvement tips for his 1.2 is looking for an answer of, 'buy a 1.6'!!

DIsregard that comment mate!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: which air filter have you got?

Like it or not, the 1.6 is an improvement over the 1.2 in terms of performance.

Anyway - you should put your tongue in your cheek a little more often!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: which air filter have you got?

A Ferarri is an improvement over a Skoda! It dosent mean we suggest a Skoda owner to buy a Ferarri to increase performance!

I think the guy was looking for tips to improve his 1.2 - not swap the whole thing for a different car!

Dont argue with me! I'll win!

CHIPS

I HAD A CHIPPED 1.2 LAST TIME ROUND AND HAVE GOT A STANDARD ONE (BUT WITH MORE TOYS) THIS TIME ROUND. gOTTA SAY THAT I NOTICE A QUITE CONSIDERABLE DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMANCE BETWEEN THEM, DUNNNO WHO MADE THE CHIP AS IT WAS FITTED BEFORE I BOUGHT IT BUT IT FELT A LOT SPORTIER.

P.S. PROBABLY A GOOD THING THIS ONE AIN'T CHIPPED AS LAST ONE ENDED UP WRAPPED ROUND A CIVIC

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: which air filter have you got?

Nowt wrong with a 1.6 apart from the insurance and the MPG :)

Re: Re: Is there a way to increase the power of a 1.2?
