Is my xbo HD?

Since getting my ps3, i have been confused about whether my XBOX is 1080p or not. I was using a component cable but then i found out that wasnt fully HD. I also seem to remember hearing somewhere that earlier xbox werent fully HD anway.

So basically im asking, will it make any difference if i get a HDMI cable and run it though that instead? Will it then be 1080p?

That depends if its a Elite or not.... the normal white xbox doesnt have hdmi does it? where the elite one definately does!

ooo thats a tricky one lol, i purchased it second hand so im not exactly sure how old it is. Anyway i can find out?

its a regular xbox but it does have a hdmi output

The elite was first to get it. But I think the entire ranges has an HDMI now.

it should display in 1080p without HDMI output mine does with just component cables. newer xbox's will have a HDMI output

Also my launch machine makes my telly switch to 1080p mode on it's own and I connect through the component cable.

all xbox 360's are HDMI equipped now
OP,you should be able to run 1080p over component.i dont know where my 360 component is to check though

I might have a play around later on the settings and using HDMI cable to see if i can get a definate answer

if you have HDMI then its worth getting the splitter anf running both via HDMI

Is that something to do with cables being 1.3? I have no idea what that means, just know they are better lol

the 360 is 1.2the PS3 is partly 1.3
these are HDMI standards but dont get too bogged down in it
