Hi Guys;

I know that most of U (myself included) got fried on this Tyre + Wheel subject but I really & deeply need help !

I'm a proud owner of a 1998 HGT 2.0 20v :)

I'm planning to change my wheels & tyres soo...

Is this set possible to fit on a "HGT" ?
(As the arches are wider than the other versions :) )

Wheels : 8"x17"
Tyres : 215/45 Z 17 Toyo Proxes T1-S
Springs : 30-40mm lower !

I simply can't change the wheel rim as I don't have too much choice on the manufacturer.

I surely don't want lower profiles than 215/45 Z 17 because of the bumpy/holy roads in Turkey... I know about the 205/40 Z 17's but they are very low profile for our roads...

If this fitment is possible, do I need the arches trimmed ?

What'll be the tyre pressures ?

I simply don't care about the speedo, I just want the long lasting but extremely good looking wheel/tyre combination !

After lowering about 30mm do I need to change the shock absorbers with the sport ones or will the originals go without any problem ? I know that after 30mm. U have to change the absorbers too...

All answers welcome, thanx in advance :)

Re: Reply Anyone ?

Hi bud..

I think that this aint gonna work sorry. Firstly 17x8 are too wide. Mine are 18x7.5 and u can just get away with that. Also the tyres are wrong so as u have said u would be catching the arches..not worth it in my opinion. i did have 17s before my 18s and i never found a prob with 40mm profiles

Hope that helps

Al
