Is Brave ride poor at low speed?

I have read in some industry publications that the ride in the Bravo is poor at lower speeds and is patchy. Has anyone out there noticed this with their Bravo? I am thinking of buying one but am a little put off by this fact seeing as I live in London and will have an average speed of slow miles per hour due stoopid amounts of traffic. If you do think it is bad, how would you describe it? Is it a real let down? Also I have read that rear space is quite limited. The Stilo seems a good alternative but abit outta my price range.

Cheers.

I am 6'2" and my seat goes fully back so there is limited room behind me but small peopl efi tin fine, the ride is nice and smooth in the bravo the only fault i can think of if the clutch is worn which is a common faul ton the bravo/a then it judders badly when setting off, but test drive the car before you buy then you shall know!

It does the biz. You will never find a good all round car. Certainly if the shocks are shot then the ride and handling are DIRE. £150 sorts that out.

Ok cool, thanks for the information guys. Also I have seen a 1.6SX advertised with air con! As far as I understood it the SX model doesnt come with air con does it?

Re: Re: Is Brave ride poor at low speed?

Its ride is poor by best of class standards, but after a couple of weeks you'll get used to it like I did!

Re: Re: Re: Is Brave ride poor at low speed?

I think the sx comes fitted with air con as standard on models after about 1997! Correct me if i'm wrong.

you could get a brava if you want more room. ride is just as good and the rear lights look much better!

air con

The air con in the SX is an option (it was on mine anyway). I think it was only standard on MK 2 HGT's.

Re: Re: Is Brave ride poor at low speed?

The juddering when pulling away, you say it's common is it? This is because mine also does it. Would a new clutch sort it out or is it more of a gear box problem?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Is Brave ride poor at low speed?

Hmmmm. You trying to start an argument? Bravo lights are by far superior in design!

Let battle commence.... ;)

Bravo is better!

air con

Actually, my mk2 1.6GT came with a standard climate control, which is better than air con

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Is Brave ride poor at low speed?

No i wasn't trying to start anything - sorry! either way think everone would agree the bravo AND brava are both fantastic cars!

just for the record

the bravo rear lights are better,as is the whole carme no likey mr brava.chamone!

Re: just for the record

i dont like the brava as much as the bravo but theyre both better than the mundane competition!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Is Brave ride poor at low speed?

I have to say that originally when the cars first came out I saw the Brava rear end first and thought "Yeah, Nice". I then went off it and followed the Bravo as I'm much more into 3-door cars and see fivers as more the family man option.

Since buying my Bravo and joining in on the Forum I have seen some excellent Brava'a (Azz's looks pretty good) but it still aint gonna win over the Bravo.

Just a word to the wise tho', a comment like "the Brava is better" is bound to trigger some "debate" and there's more of us with Bravo's. ;)

Still, Stilo ne1! EeeeeuuuuuuuKKKK!!

lol

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Is Brave ride poor at low speed?

I have never driven a Brava so I cant tell, but the Bravo has been classified as having a better ride and handling then the Brava. Space comes with a price...you cant have everything!

Ass regards to looks I prefer the Bravo rear, but still, the Brava's rear has orginal styling and good looking when compared to other meagre competition such as the 306 or whatever.

Hi

Can anyone confirm that the driving positions are different in the Bravo and Brava?
I booked a test drive a week and a half in advance, in person, so the sales girl knew I was 6'4". But when I got there I was told that there were no Bravo's available, (hmmmm) so we went in a Brava. I have now been told that the Brava is more suited to taller drivers because of the differance in driving position.

Mark.

She seems like a good sales girl. Ask her how much commission she gets on selling a car!
