OK, the problem of getting an iPod to work with the Connect+ has been on going for a while, with some hit and miss solutions.

I don't know if this has been posted already, apologies if it has.

After reading various posts on the failure to get an iPod to work I had a kinda brain fart and thought sod it I'd give it a try.

Bought one of these:

And one of these (choosing Blaukpunkt option):

10mins to install and all works perfectly.

iPod is recognised by the C+, iPod charges and all the relevant buttons on the C+ and steering wheel control the thing too. Not had chance to have a real play with it yet but so far everything is looking good.

LOL - have received and email from Dension support asking me to let them know what functions work and what don't, plus a list of any bugs I find, before they update their compatibility database.

that is rather interesting mate, well done (y)

can you post up some pictures of what goes on and what it all looks like fitted. if that was audio/video, it would have made my day

Will try and take some pics tomorrow, it a 30gig iPod video thats connected and so far have had no problems with it or the dension kit at all.

Hi from StiloClub Greece...
For all Stilo Owners with Visteon System Check Also This Solution...

A member in our forum bought one of this and it works perfect...
It supports USB, SD Cards and also have an AUX.
You can control it from the Visteon Unit or from steering Wheels Buttons.
Probably works for the Connect Nav+ too ( I cant see the reason why not to work) but it has not been test it yet.

Dogspods, did you ever get the chance to take the pics?

To be honest I'd forgotten, but to put things right have just taken the following. Sorry for the quality of some of the images but I just didn't have enough hands to hold everything and take photos. In all installation took me no more than 15mins.

(1) - use suitable tool to remove head unit

(2) - slide out head unit so you have easy access to connectors

(3) - disconnect the cable from CDC and install supplied Dension CDC loom

DSC020211.JPG

(4) - connect Dension CDC loom to Dension CDC adaptor then connect loom from CDC to remaining socket

DSC02023.JPG

(5) - connect CDC adaptor to Dension iPod adaptor and lead to iPod

(6) - hide everything neatly out of the way in space to left of craddle, securing CDC and iPod adaptors with cable ties provided. Make sure iPod cable and loom to CDC will not gt trapped or pinched when replacing C+, they can be routed behind the rubber stop at the back of the craddle.

(7) - slide C+ back into place, push gently until you hear it click back into place.

(8) - route iPod cable through to top glovebox (or other desired location). I've left mine there for the time being as I'm in two minds as to get an active cradle or not.

(9) - connect iPod to cable and your done - you may have to update the firmware on the Dension until, it's straight forward and easy to do. All instructions are supplied on the Dension Support site.

(10) - Create 5 playlists on your iPod of 99 songs max per playlist, the C+ will now treat these as CD's.

That looks brilliant.

Do you have to get rid of the smart playlists e.g 90's music etc?

To be honest I've not tried, also don't know how the new "on the go" playlist option effects the Dension as it adds an extra playlist (of sorts) to the iPod.

**Posted this in a couple of threads now, hope it is of some use.... **

I finally spent 10 mins playing around with this trying to get it to work, and I have.

If your iPod is plugged into the cradle, and does not show the Dension screen on it, then its running in iPod mode, and not Changer mode. To switch it to Changer mode, so the Dension screen displays on the ipod, you need change this from within Menu 6.

With the ipod in the cradle, switch on the head unit and let it boot. Select CDC using the button on the head unit. It should automatically default to CD#6. Now what you need to do is press the play button on the head unit, and then straight away go forward to track number 3 (while it thinks its playing). This will now put it into CD Changer mode rather than iPod mode, and your iPod will now diaplay the white Dension screen.

Job done! (y)

How does this work with the connect+? Mine only shows CD1-5, sometimes lol. Is this info for the other stilo head units?

Thanks

Dan

As of a couple of days ago, Loudlink are advertising that they now sell the SSD thingy for Stilo Connect+. Has anyone tried one of these yet? Or have any idea how reputable the company are? its a lot of cash but would be brilliant if it worked, especially for those of us without a little apple on their mp3 player...

I received the Loudlink today after ordering it sunday.

And I must be honest it works perfect.

It's plug and play en very fast in changing songs and "CD's".

You can put 490 songs on one SD card that is more than 30 hours of music (4 minutes average). And even more if you like the long versions of songs.

One of the biggest advantages is it remembers where it left of when you switched the car/Connect Nav+ off. This for me was the biggest annoyance for the Blaupunkt changer.

It's not cheap but a lot of bang for your buck.

I read regularly on this forum and am a active member of the Dutch Stilo Forum (www. stilogroup.net) and I can really recommend the Loudlink as a replacement for the Blaupunkt changer.

A lot like the Dension iPod kit then but without all the really good features
