iPod & Stilo Connect+ ....the solution!

I suppose its a question of cost to a certain degree, the Denison thing is over £100, plus an ipod if like me you havent got one, thats £100. The loudlink comes in at about £130ish I think it said.

Having said that it might be complete rubbish. There was a lot going for having a cassette with a wire hanging from it!;)

You will still need a SD card or other form of storage with the Loudlink.
I am still waiting delivery of one but if anybody in Kent wants to give it a try let me know.

Wife has a Fiat Stilo 53 plate, with a Visteon head unit (not like the photo earlier, same size etc but glows orange instead). She wants me to get her a Dension Gateway 100 for her iphone to play into her stereo.....

Would the gateway work the same on the orange glowing visteon player? also i do not have a cd changer currently.

Any comments welcome as need to order asap.

Thanks

no response yet, hopefully will hear tomorrow...

The Dension kit doesn't show anything on the displays - it treats the iPod/iPhone as a CDC - you create 5 playlists of up to 99 songs each and and they are then chosen with the relevant 1-5 buttons.

sorry are you saying it should work with the visteon stereo (lights up orange)

Dension just responded saying

Hi, The only option for you is the Universal Modulator kit. You can choose yourself one from the link below: http://www.ipodcarkitdirect.co.uk/iPod_Car_Kit/Universal_FM_Modulator We always suggest the DICE kit or the Dension kit though. Please be aware of the difference between Modulation and Transmission before deciding that this unit isn't right for you. With Modulation you will still get a fully hard-wired solution which is as close to CD Quality as you are ever likely to get. The way the unit works it very clever and when the iPod is connected, your aerial is electronically blocked out so interference is impossible. Also if you do not want to damage your dash by mounting the iPod cradle directly to it, we recommend using one of the damage-free mounting brackets specific to your car make and model. These can be found under the iPod Mounting section of our website: View these here: http://www.ipodcarkitdirect.co.uk/iPod_Mounting/ Have you any further query, feel free to get in touch.

DON'T get the FM mod kit - sound is sh*te. The Gateway 100 was listed on the Dension site as incompatible with the Stilo CN+, but it works fine - OK, has it's odd occasional moments when it's not recognised or plays random tracks from the iPod - but everything else works fine.

Remove your head unit and check the connectors against the photos posted earlier - if they're the same then you should be OK

will check connectors , my only issue was my stereo is one without the big screen its just a plain old stereo that lights up orange.......hence the confusion and not being techy minded didn't want to buy and waste my money!

Will check and then decided

Thanks!!

Hence why i suggested checking against the photos as the Dension site only lists Blaupunkt or Grundig head units for Fiat.

hi tried to upload pics of connections but camera playing up however the attached link has a video with my headunit in and it has the same connections as my headunit does

Would the dension gateway 100 plug in like this xcarlink plugs in (i.e into the blue plug place) if it does its worth buying as it should work presumably.

Thanks for your assistance.

After checking the link and referencing it against my install photos it looks as if the connections are the same (i.e. the blue one)

So purchased and installed. Plug in the iphone and it shows on the iphone as connected and even comes up charging a couple of times but one major problem....... the visteon headunit doesn't seem to have a button or option to goto a multi changer...

How or is it possible for a visteon to have a multi changer if so how does one select the changer ?

Thanks

Dension all installed So went into hidden visteon settings is reporting cdc not connected , any ideas?

Have you tried resetting the headunit? (pressing setup 4/5 times)

The CDC part should just appear on the bottom line where it is usually greyed out, thats it.

It took me a bit of fiddling to get mine working, cycling power to the connectnav+, unplugging the dension adapter etc.
