iPod controls with Blue and Me

Hello All,

I'm taking delivery of my Fiat 500 on 1st March and I've just visited the dealer, armed with iPod and iPhone to check out the Blue and Me setup.

I realise that, without re-configuring my iPod, I need to use the £70+ adapter and all seems to work fine with both pieces of kit... however I *do* have one question: is it possible to use the iPod/iPhone controls independently of the steering wheel controls? It appears that the Blue and Me software locks the iPod controls when connected.

As FIAT have implemented the iPod connectivity API then as with any made for iPod/iPhone playback device it takes full control over the device.

It also serves to be a good safety feature as your eyes needent come away from the road much in order to change tracks etc.

That's very true, but it would be useful to allow a passenger to select/control the music sometimes, which is where returning iPod control would suit me!

If there's definitely no way round it then it's a small loss for what appears to be an excellent system!

Everyone knows the official rules of Shotgun... Passenger is in control of music, but the driver has the final say! Its a well respected rule.
