Ipod Connection Kit failure!

I have the Fiat ipod connection kit for pre B&M punto. Worked okay for a while but now it just locks up and I can't change tracks and the sound doesn't come out. I've tried disconnecting it and reconnecting but it is still no good. The headunit still recognises that it is present but it doesn't work.

It is over a year old so no warranty. Is there anything I can do with it like a reset or firmware flash etc?

Could it be the iPod? Try restoring that first.

hmmm would still like to know how there intended to work
