Hi,

I have an iPhone 3G paired with my GP. The phonebook in Blue&Me is in sync with iPhone's one. I can browse, choose a contact and call it without problem.

But when someone who is in the phonebook calls me, it displays the caller's phone number and not its name?
Has someone else the same problem? And has someone found a solution?

thanks for reading,
ChrisFR

Sorry Chris I don't have the answer to this but I have a similar problem so I am jumping onto your post ;).

I have the BlackBerry Storm 9500 and I have downloaded my phone book but when I scroll through on my car all I can see are the 'phone numbers and not the names of people....not much good to me.

I only got my car on Monday...a shiny little Fiat500. It's great and I have this silly smile on my face when I drive it. My only annoyance is that I am stuck with the BlackBerry for a few more months.

Hope someone knows how to get the names up.

Cheers

Alan

Thanks Alan et perhaps someone will have a solution for your problem (hope for mine too ;) )

I don't know how to get the names showing as on my GP they are shown in Blue&Me without having to do anything.

For a test, I paired my old HTC TyTn phone (running Windows Mobile) and names are shown on incoming calls. So it's seems as if it is the iPhone that do not send correct information to Blue&Me to enable it to show name of caller instead of the number?

Maybe someone can confirm ?

Cheers,

Today I got a call while driving and the caller's name was shown... Is my issue corrected with 2.2.1 upgrade or it is another joke of iPhone? Don't know but I will see in the next days, weeks.

Hi Chris

Have a look under the thread 'Blackberry 8900 strangeness'. A chap called Rob gives excellent instructions there to solve this problem....well it sorted my Blackberry out anyway. It might help you with your problem too as it sounds similar.

Something to do with 'Push' system...but give it a go.

Thanks Alan for pointing me to that thread.

I don't know if it is possible to do that with iPhone as there's no way to send contacts from iPhone on Bluetooth (neither pictures or whatever else - thank you Apple:) ) to another Bluetooth device, so I don't know how Blue&Me managed to get the phonebook at the end of the pairing...

Worth a try for sure!
