I have a random problem. Every week or so on starting the Ulysse a beeping alarm from the central console beeps every second. It continues until I turn the engine off. If I leave the car for 10 mins or so it has usually cleared. You can be sure it happens when I do not have time to leave it for any time and drive with the noise. Any ideas what this is or why??

Thanks for the threads, this is the same fault, nothing in the log or on the seats. Leave the car a while and it goes, especially if I go to a dealer, they have nothing on the diagnostic.

It is a 2.0 Turbo Diesel 2003 (March). 2.0 JTD Eleganza

The threads do not seem to resolve it. Leaving the car seems to be the answer, I can go weeks with no problem but then twice in as many days which prompted this thread.

It can start as soon as key is turned, no engine start necessary and key out is the only way to stop. If key straight back in it will continue. It needs to be given time to clear.!

Any more thoughts? I appreciate the efforts.

The "dark" button always did the business for me. Not a permanent cure, but at least it cancels the alarm (for me) when it happens. I go through phases of having this alarm regularily, then of not having it for months. I had this theory it was to do with a particular sequence of sitting down/ opening/closing/locking car, etc, which confused the RT3, but that's just wild speculation. Poggy previously offered that there was a communications issue between the body computer and RT3 that could be fixed with a s/w upgrade. All I have.

Thanks. This sounds like my problem, will try the dark button next time. It is infrequent enough for this to be no big deal if it works. Local main dealer has just closed down so a sw upgrade (I am aslo out of warranty) would be a chore.!
Thanks for the advice.

Which software version have you got in the unit. I had exactly the same problem and it was driving me mad. The dealer tried everything to fix it. Eventually I downloaded the latest software from the www.eurovan2.com website and with the dealers permission (they didn't have the software yet) installed it. It solved the problem straight away and it has never come back. The dealer had another customer with the same problem, so they asked me to make a copy for them to solve the other customers problem.

If you would like a copy of the software (which I know works as I installed it in my unit), let me know and I will send it to you. It is pretty straight forward to install, you just remove your SIM card and make sure the engine is running to stop it going into energy saving mode and insert the CD. It will go through a series of updates and may reset once or twice before ejecting the CD.

The dark button worked for me as well, but sometimes I had to reset it several times before the beeping stopped.

This happens when the RT3 does not recognize the car's VIN as stored in its memory. There must be a loose connection of the bus cable of the RT3 somewhere.
