Technical Alarm problems

Hi, I have a 1997 left hand drive 2.1 TD. The problems I have is that I cannot switch on the alarm and deadlocks from the key, unfortunalely my other key has never worked at all from new and was never discovered until I was back in the uk. I had a problem yesterday with the lighting switch and had to disconnect the battery and cleared the fault on the switch but when the battery was reconnected I had to endure the alarm going off for quite sometime until it settled down. Is there a way of disarming the alarm and deadlocks? Also as the rubber has disintrigated on the key where can I get a new cover? Many thanks, Alan.

hi not sure on how to turn off alarm u can get new keypad rubbers off ebay only a few pound

Hi, I have already tried the rubber replacements off ebay and had to send them back, I think the european key is different to the uk one. But many thanks for that. Still need a solution to the alarm.
