My poor multipla is having troubles starting ????

Shes a petrol and has only started playing around since the hubbie did the clutch

What it does is just keeps cranking ...................... at first it was when the hubbie tried to start it with his keys .

But started when he used mine and then last night it wouldnt start when i tried my keys

But started ok with the same keys 5 mins ago

Any ideas as what could be causing this

A quick check list,
I'm assuming the battery is ok cos it's turning over smartly?
Check the earth strap going to the chassis and make sure it isn't corroded, broken or in any way not doing its job.
Look under the ECU cover which is in the passenger footwell on the bottom of the bulkhead, you should have a small red relay on it's own wiring loom, swap this with the one from the fusebox in the engine compartment above the N/S wheel.
This relay is something to do with the transponder and if it plays up, they don't start, although you do get the orange key light and code error on the display.

As above and maybe worth checking cam and crank sensors

The hubbie just went to go out and it started drove 150ft the engine management light came on and it cut out and will not restart

The dash goes through all the checks and the key light goes out but the EML stays on

He said he has had a look but cant see any ECU inside the car but there is one out beside the battery (which he removed whilst doing the clutch) but everything went back the same as it came off

After reading some of the other posts on here he has pulled the crank sensor off and put his multimeter across it and is getting a reading of 1180 that slowly drops to 1175 and holds ...... is this correct or is it at fault ...... the thread he was reading was for a bravo 1.2 which says it should be between 774-946

:bang:

Well the crank sensor has now been replaced and it seems to have cured the issue ........ at the moment
