So loving my little 500c I got last month. Decided to put led interior light in the cabin.
Opened up the housing popped the led bulb in and now the light doesn't come on when unlocking or opening doors? It does come on if you press it on perminatly. Tried putting old bulb in but still same. Any ideas? Fuse?

A blown fuse would allow any electricity to pass.
Ie light wouldn’t work at all.

Check its all seated properly and that the switch is working. Is this a Fiat accessori or ebay? What style of internal light do you have. Try replacing tge bulb, then disconnect battery for half an hour. Reconnect and see if the old bulb works then. Changing to non standard bulbs on a can bus car is not something I would do may be Fiat approved accessori aside. Door locks and lights all interlinked it can confuse the ecu if it does not read voltages that match OE specifications. There are delay timings and light left on paramaters that take account of the light as well. Take the bulb out and see if it responds to current applied. Check you have not just switched it off from operating via door switch. If you have mes you may be able to run some tests via the software.

  • Prove the old bulb is actually gone.
  • If it has not blown the bulbs element, replacing the bulb will not solve the issue.
  • If the old bulb hasn't gone prove there is a voltage at the light switch terminals. If no voltage check fuse.
Some LEDs only work when connected with correct neg/pos polarity, it may simply need turning around to reverse polarity.
