Got my renewal today for the A500, Fully Comp, No Claims Protection, Courtesy Car OH as a driver. I had to inform them of my earlier speeding conviction 3 points and £60.

As a result they upped my excess, bringing it to, combined total of £700 and a £50 increase in premium resulting in an overall cost £275 for the year.

Doing a comparison with other companies I found another 'Major' in the market place with identical cover , £300 overall excess and taking into account the speeding offence, £111 cheaper.

Yet again it pays to shop around annually as loyalty no longer means anything in today's market.

My car is £199 with a £250 excess. I have 8 years NCB and 3 points for speeding (not in my 500) the quotes I was getting went from £199 to £1000!

I'm a woman, over 40 (just!:)), no points, 7 years NCB, no mods, drive like a nun (well, mostly ;)) - my Abarth insured for £200! My niece just passed her driving test (19yrs) and got her Peugeot 107 insured (as a second driver) for £700 - eye watering! And that was after extensive shopping around...

I paid 1800 as a main driver when I was in uni 18 years old fully comp on an Audi A2. Of course as a student I paid that in monthly instalments, like 120 pounds a month! Should have written it off on purpose before selling it just to claim some money back from those cheats! I didn't have any claims and no one claimed from me.

When I was 17 my 1997 mitsubishi colt cost me £4508 a year for the insurance :/

My 'modified' TA is £390. It's the 25k miles a year/business use that kills it. The mods made very little difference. I could have got insurance for £230 if it was 10k miles per year.
