Hi everybody.

My car has the seemingly common LCD screen problem, where speedo itself and tachometer on the side work fine, but pixels are messed up (so I cant see engine temp, how much fuel I have, what gear I am in etc).

It is similar to this recent post: https://www.fiatforum.com/threads/instrument-cluster-help.522732/

My car is 2013 1.2 51kw Fiat 500 with Dualogic gearbox. Manufacturer code on the speedo is 735516033 and OEM code 503005214430 . Code on the LCD (on the ribbon) is COG-VLIT1318-01 . These parts could not be sourced anywhere so I can't have a direct replacement.

So what I have gathered during my research into this issue is that the best solution would be to buy a digital speedo from a Dualogic car that would be still prefacelift (so up to 2015 and 2015 maybe included?). I found that minitools sells new clusters like this one: https://store.minitools.com/en/dash...-new-instrument-cluster-sei-qs-735483644.html

Also there seems to be some aftermarket replacement like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100....25!!!!!@2140ec5d17742562138558108e7843!!im!!

Price is a bit higher and it looks cheaper, but would still work for me. The key thing for both of these is being able to support Dualogic (to show which gear is currently selected).

My question would be that does anyone have experience with these clusters (minitools or aliexpress ones) or does anyone know the exact cluster code that would suit my car? Or if there is some parts catalogue so that I could find instrument cluster code for 2014 Dualogic car for example? I think that if there would be a solid solution for this issue then it would help a lot of people since it seems to be a quite common problem on these cars.

Many thanks in advance :)

After some more investigation I have found that the best/only solution is to buy a newer TFT cluster from a 2016+ car and do a proxy alignment on it using multiecuscan software.

The benefit of newer facelift clusters is that they are much cheaper and more common to find than the rare prefacelift TFT-s and also they have lower mileages because they are from newer cars. The milage is important because you can only adjust the mileage to be larger on the cluster but not smaller (so if your current mileage is 100 000, but the replacement cluster has 150 000 then your car is now stuck with displaying 150 000 which could be hurting the resale value).

The benefit of older prefacelift clusters is that you can set the date and time more easily using the buttons next to the cluster and not having to use multiecuscan software for it but since that software is needed anyway for proxy alignment (and if you are a DIY kind of Fiat owner in general tbh) then it is not worth it.

One possible issue with the newer TFT clusters is changing the language. This is again something you cant use the buttons next to the cluster because on facelift models changing the language is done from the touch screen radio menu that prefacelift cars did not have. Where it becomes an issue is that multiecuscan seems not being able to do it even though the language change option is there. I am not sure if this is about being a newer TFT cluster or some other compatibility issue and I have to look into it more in a separate post.

And last thing to keep in mind is that the TFT cluster can be from any car - automatic or manual. You can just program it to show the correct stuff using multiecuscan software.
