Just wondering how to remove the air filter box to replace with twin cone filter induction kit?

Thanks.

What kind of setup are you going to use?

  • Take off the arch liner on the passenger side.
  • Remove the top half of the box completely.
  • Take out the elbow at the bottom of the box near the headlight.
  • Remove the 2 screws holding it in position.
  • Lift it up and jiggle it free from its seat.
  • Lower it down :)

Thats for removing the whole box btw... Put up some pics of your kit and well advise whats best to do :)

Depends....

Which way do you want to install it?

No worries! Thats exactly as you described it, first is top half removed and second is fully removed for a custom fit

Went to the scrappy today and took airbox apart.
Gonna go with top off filter out n leave the bottom half in.

So whats my process?

Disconnect battery

Remove tthe top half of box

Remove filter

Attatch hose and filter into the bottom half of standard airbox and secure.

Reconnect battery.

Is this correct?

Thanks.

The top half off is much simpler, as when i went fully custom, i had to take the light out, bumper off, make custom fittings etc...

you dont need to disconnect the battery :)

loosen or break the hose clips, depending on the type
loosen the 4 phillips screws on the airbox. Disconnect clips on the battery tray for wires and hoses connected to the air pipe
remove the hoses, filter and top of box
refittng is the reverse. Use new hose clips :)

what did you get for pipes?

Well For the hose ive seen pics of kits installed using the hose from the intake that connects between the main intake scoop thingy and the elbow at the bottom of the std air box ( donno what to call it! )
So im gonna try that and see how it goes!

Il try and put a link to the pics ive seen.
