Aspect, are you going to Stanford? If you hang on till then I'm sure we can all sort it out. Plenty of Stilo's to compare wiring with.

Nah mate, im definately up for a meet at some point though.

Alpine Loom should have Red for Permanent and Yellow for Ignition switched. The Stilo will have Red (Permanent), Black (Earth) and two pink CAN wires. Connect the Red and Yellow on the Alpine loom TOGETHER, and then connect that to the Red from the Stilo (so all 3 wires connect).

This will cause no memory loss but will mean the radio won't know when the ignition is on or off; to gain this, you'll have to get a feed off the ATT line.

Whats the ATT line? Im pretty sure ive done that, ive swapped the red and yellow in the alpine loom, and still got nothing.

The ATT line is the ignition switched feed, don't know why I called it the ATT line, too much eLEARN reading! :p

When you say "swapped", it won't help; CONNECT THEM TOGETHER! :D

How come, does it still not work? If it's alpine you need a separate feed from the battery . . . just take +12V feed from the battery (put an in-line fuse obviously!) and earth, connect your +12V feed to the yellow and red wires (checking the Alpine guide to see that this is permanent (red) and ignition (yellow)), and I can't see why the frig it won't work!!

See what im confused with is this battery feed. Is this not on the loom? Do i physically need to run a wire from the battery?

Yeah that is the standard way of doing it, but for some reason (don't ask me why, I worked in parts :p), the guys at Halfords always used to run a separate feed from the battery for the more powerful Alpine units.

Have you tried using the standard loom Aspect (lol, I'm assuming that ain't your real name :p)

Yeah i tried the standard loom but nothing, Aspect is my middle name ;)

Thick Yellow Wire is Usually Straight from Battery positive terminal to head unit on Alpines ( Via a 20 Amp Fuse).
I fitted alpine head in a Punto I used to own (4 X 60 watts output hence the higher fuse rating )
Heads are usually interchangeable.
Don`t connect anywhere else because of this Dont use normal car Radio permenant + Supply at back of dashboard as it is fuse rating/wiring is rated below 20 amp.

Thick Black wire is to be connected to Earth

Red wire (ACC) is to vehicle ignition
