The problem being a lack of power to the HU, now am i being stupid here? Do i need a wiring adaptor? Head unit is an Alpine 9855 going into a 1.6 Dynamic.

Ok, I have never swapped the HU over, but a lot of stilo guys on here have done, without any issues whatsoever.
So what are you missing?

Its all connected up, i made sure i had the yellow to yellow connected aswell. Press the old power button and not a sausage
There should be a yellow cable coming from the rear of the head unit that appears to be surplus. This needs a live feed. If there is a spare red coming from the vehicle loom then connect this to the yellow wire. Try that.

Try connecting a red cable to the yellow cable.

You only need to swap the battery live and the ignition live (Yellow and Red) over to get it to work with the fiat loom.
Or try red and yellow from the head unit together into the battery live.
